Dr. Sean Jay Henderson, DO

I had some problems after giving birth that I was referred to him for. He did some tests that were helpful at the end of the year, and I worked hard to schedule everything (scans, tests, etc.) since my deductible had been met. We discussed the importance of this getting done before the new year because things were financially tight after having a baby. He scheduled a "follow up" after one of the tests that would land in the new year. I called the office to cancel the follow up if it wasn't a routine one because I couldn't afford it. The person I talked to on the phone said not to worry because insurance would cover that type of follow up. I kept the appointment with her assurance. On the day of the follow up, i double checked with the lady who checked me in that it would be covered because if not i couldn't afford it. She assured me I wouldn't be charged and if I did get a bill, to just call them and they'd take care of it. Fast forward, I DID get a bill and called them and they DENIED… ever saying those things to me when the billing manager asked them. I couldn't afford it so I asked to talk to Dr. Henderson about the misunderstanding because he knew about my financial situation, and the billing manager told me she talked to him and he gave me two options: either pay the bill for the follow up or I'd be banned from all Granger Medical facilities in the future. I had to take the latter option because I couldn't afford the bill. Now I am banned from any of those medical offices. If I had been a repeat offender or something, I would understand... but I have never missed a bill or even had a late payment in MY LIFE. I have proven to be trustworthy and have a credit score of over 800. This was just extreme to me coming from a doctor towards a patient who has no history of late/missing payments. Truly shows where this doctor's priorities are.

Took time to answer all my questions (I had lots!), clearly and helpfully.

First off the reason for the one star, is for the nurse who was awesome. From there on it went from bad to worse. I understand they have recently been taken over by Summit Urology, which is maybe why the administration is in such a mess and the wait times are increasing. Summit/Granger's other offices are famous for their long wait times and overscheduling. In addition I found the procedure rooms to be small and not as clean as you would expect. I also don't like that you really only get to see Dr Henderson for the actual procedures/surgeries. Most pre and post appointments are with Brad his PA., who is nice enough, but with all I have going on, I need to see someone more qualified than a PA., prior to any procedure. As for Dr Henderson himself, he's personable enough, but I wasn't happy with my procedure and the aftercare. Despite Google stating that the phone lines are open from 8am to 5pm. I was told by the service that they're often not in until 9 and they now close at 4.30pm.… It's crucial that any medical establishment makes sure their hours are listed in places like Google correctly as at best it's a frustration to the patient, at worse it could put the patient at risk.

Wonderful urologist who performs only cutting edge procedures. He is robotically trained. My no-scapel vasectomy was a breeze!

I recently had kidney stone surgery by Dr. Henderson. He was most genial, competent and helpful. He gave me information to help prevent further stones and has been most helpful in educating me about kidney stones. I highly recommend Dr, Henderson to anyone who needs a urologist. I would give him a 10 if it were possible.
