Dr. Shalini Varshney, MD

Choosing to go to this doctor was a horrible mistake I hope no one else makes. I came to find this doctor through my insurance and went to her a total of 3 times, only to be left disappointed. She made my issue to seem much more severe and urgent than it was, pushing me to take multiple unnecessary tests, pulling money from me knowing I had to pay out of pocket for a lot of my treatment. She even sent me to the E.R., telling me I had no other option and I was told I had to undergo surgery. Her advice was unhelpful as all of her decisions seemed to be just a ploy to pull as much money from me as she could. She was rude to me and I went to a second doctor for a second opinion only to have my entire problem solved within 10 minutes with no testing or difficulty, let alone surgery! I’ve realized that Dr. Varshney cares more about business than she does her patients’ health and well-being and I strongly suggest you don’t go to this doctor. During a difficult time of COVID-19, Dr. Varshney… put me through more struggles and suffering than I could imagine.

Very irresponsible and unorganized. They took blood work and did not submitted to the lab. Despite calling them couple of times, they did not reveal it until 20 days. They have no idea what they are doing . No tracking at all. We had couple of other bad experiences too. Only reason why we choose this doctor was timings. But not at all worth it

*Very Critical Information Please Read* THIS DOCTOR DID MEMBRANE SWEEP WITHOUT CONSENT TO FIT US IN HER SCHEDULE AND SCARED US BY SAYING OUR SON WILL DIE AND NEED TO DO A EMERGENCY C-SECTION BECAUSE WE WANTED A NATURAL DELIVERY. It was our first pregnancy and we started looking for a good obgyn, unfortunately we came across her and the reviews seemed decent so we decided to go with her. At the start she was very friendly, nice and agreed to what we wanted. We had decided to do a natural delivery. In the end she became very rude, insulting and started pushing us for a c-section to fit us in her schedule. She ended up booking a room at the hospital for induction 1 week earlier it was planned. We decided to cancel the appointment and asked her to reschedule it after 1 week. She called my wife and started talking very rudely saying stuff like who will pay for my practice that I shut for you to come to see you at the hospital and you canceled the appointment, etc. That week we went… for a checkup at her clinic around 8am and got back home by 11am just few mins after we got home my wife's water broke and it kept on leaking. We went to the hospital and were very adamant to try for natural delivery, later that night when the doctor came to the hospital she started scaring my wife (who is already in pain and under medication) saying stuff like this needs an emergency c-section because the umbilical cord is warped around my sons neck and if she trys to do a natural delivery it may result in my son's death. So we ended up with a c-section. It wasnt a pleasant experience and my wife ended up in post pregnancy depression and it took her some while to recover. VERY IMPORTANT - LATER ON WE LEARNED WHY MY WIFE'S WATER BROKE. IT WAS DUE TO A MEMBRANE SWEEP WITHOUT CONSENT. It was a horrible experience with this doctor. She is always overbooked and you will have to wait at least 1 hour from your time of appointment before she sees you. She is open 7 days a week overbooked and will try to fit you in her schedule to maximize the amount of money she makes.

I came in 15 minutes prior to my appointment as is professional courtesy. I filled out the remaining forms, paid my co-pay prior to seeing the doctor, sat down, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more (until they called me in, approximately 2 hours after I was scheduled to be seen), surrounded by four or so other patients whose appointments ranged from scheduled to be 30 minutes before mine, to scheduled to be 10 minutes after mine. Upon being able to see the doctor, I was told that she no longer performed insertion of the in-arm implant birth control that I had specifically requested and that both her website and ZocDoc listing had stated that she performed. When asked about this, she stated, "We haven't had enough time to update those yet." When asked why she did not perform a standard (and very, very common) birth control procedure, she stated, "I have too many patients want to take them back out again, and I am tired of it." This statement alone is… unprofessional and unreasonable, but, moving past that, what really takes it home, is that she then told me that she would not be refunding me my co-pay for the visit if I elected to "have her counsel me on other forms of birth control," since I "had selected the worst one." She then began to spout false statistics about the in-arm implant and lots of wildly unprofessional opinions of its effectiveness that could all be easily disproven with a simple Google search---or a visit to a gynecologist who knows what they are talking about and actually cares about what their patient needs. Three hours after my appointment was scheduled to start, I finally left, with a scribbled-on piece of paper towel in my hand "referring me" to another OB-GYN for the in-arm implant. I will never be returning to this clinic, and I only wish I could give zero stars.

First of all the staff looks at you like you shouldn't be there, and closes the receptionist window to whisper (really). The doctor was really rough with me and didn't address any of my concerns. Rush job, and the receptionist stated that they charge $5.00 for a note to return to work (My Gosh). I will never return awful service and don't recommend anyone who wants a doctor who is concerned about the well being of their health.

Can't ask for anything more in a doctor. So polite, patient and friendly. No airs about herself and such a warm person. I strongly recommend her to every women seeking a compassionate Doctor.

Dr. Varshney is a wonderful Obgyn,has love for her patients,very kind,friendly and very skillful. We love also and we welcome he to our neighborhood. Dr. welcome to south riding.
