Dr. Shandal Emanuel

Dr. E stepped up to the plate on my daughter's first appointment! For years Liv was being treated by Dr. Baliga in Rocky Mount, not saying anything to bad about Baliga, but he never wanted to deal with my childs CVS. We always received the same answer about what to do if she is cycling and to always carry the basin where ever we went. It got old after about two years of cleaning up vomit several times a day and not being able to take my daughter to chuck e cheese or even out to a restaurant, Dr. E started her own an appropriate medication and my daughter has now been 8 weeks and 3 days without a cycle. My home life has changed and I have got my little girl back. I have called her office many times in tears and they have all been nothing but helpful, Dr. E has arranged many appointments and fit my daughter in even when she was having just a bad day or I needed the encouragement. Dr. E understands not only the dx, but she has compassion for the family dealing with it everyday. I… would wait 2 hours if I had to just to see her or let her see my family. Doctors have lives to and you can't fault them when emergencies arise, its always best to understand that when choosing a Doctor. I spent 3 days at UNC with Liv along with my mother and father and her soon to be step father and his family and they even suggested getting another pediaticians opinon, and I am so glad we did. Dr. E does does have some longer wait times, but only because she spends time with her patients when they are there. She went over everything with us on all our visits and each visit we would leave there feeling like we would accomplish something before our next visit, and we always do. So glad to have a little girl back. Thanks to Dr. E and her staff!

Dr. Emmanuel makes you feel like a person and not a number. What a wonderful and caring person and physician.

Shes perfect with my family very accurate an very caring. Her Secretaries can use alittle mannuism an edict but there not my doctor so I overlook it shes the best!

I am fed up with repeatedly falling through the cracks...call back on serious issues. Never a doctor on-call when she's on vacation and she goes often. Never available when you need her, long waits when trying to get an appt. I was walking down the hallway after getting my monthly shot and said to my daughter , in what she described as a calm matter of fact tone "well this is the last time Im walking down this hall", my daughter replied I dont blame you. The doctor yelled across the building "is there something wrong? calling me by name in front of staff as well as other awaiting patients, to which I replied "yes theres a lot wrong". She hostel-ly walked towards me saying I would have talked to you about it "(however her nurse just said she doubted she would as she was trying to leave her Grandfather was in the hospital. I said never mind because I understood" The nurse kept apologizing saying it would never happen again (slipping between the cracks) I replied no it wouldn't , already… having a new doctor lined up.)My doctor had a melt down saying she had taken good care of me for years , I replied "thats debatable"... She started saying something else I replied go be with your Grandfather, and Id pray for him and her and she rolled her eyes. In my opinion based on MY experience she's incompetent, unprofessional, irresponsible and you'd better have some idea what's wrong before you go to her because she will run the same test over and over(in my case thyroid) expecting different results (Einstein definition of insanity) a high percentage of her staff is rude and always seem like you're bothering them (overwhelmed ??) they speak poorly of the doctor as well.

You practicually have to self diagnose. She will repeatedly test known issues but doesn't think to check for other possibilities. Doesn't follow up on serious issues/illnesses. Self absorbed disrepectful, unprofessional behavior. She and her staff will allow you to repeatedly let you slip through the cracks.I was mistreated, spoken to rudely on multiple occaisions by "some" of the staff. I will absolutely never return and will start with a new doctor soon. I would NEVER suggest anyone see this doctor nor deal with her staff.

i enjoy having her as a Doc.

She is a wonderful doctor who gives the up most attetntion to my kids. She really cares about her patients.My children khailil and lyric are in the best of care

Dr.E.is great.Her front desk staff needs more room to work and more help so they dont get so over whelmed and seem rude at times.The nursing staff are great also but the same for them,they need more space to work,their area always seems a mess.
