Dr. Shenin Madatali Sachedina, DO

After receiving an abnormal mammogram, I reached out to my doctor. She spoke about the high level of trust she had in Dr. Sachedina, D.O., FACOS. She said Dr. Sachedina takes great care of her patients, and she would not refer me to anyone else. I was able to get an appointment scheduled quickly. I remember Dr. Sachedina greeting me and ‘educating me about my abnormal mammogram first.’ She focused on one wall chart that showed an expanded view of the breast lobe and she stepped me through where the abnormality was. My level of trust and confidence in Dr. Sachedina quickly grew and I knew why my doctor referred me to her. Dr. Sachedina calmed me down by explaining that people do not die from this, but I still had decisions to make and needed to understand the process. She provided me with a specialized care team, which included Dr. Sachedina, her staff, radiologists, oncologists, and a plastic surgeon. Anyone can understand the complexities of a treatment involving multiple doctors,… at multiple locations over many weeks. Dr. Sachedina drove the process, at any sign of a scheduling delay, she stepped in. Any time I did not understand what was going on she explained it in a way I understood it. I truly appreciate her being my advocate! I have never had a doctor’s office or group of doctors, which worked together so collaboratively. Because of this care team, I was able to make an ‘informed decision.’ Dr. Sachedina is the founder of Ub3E. The purpose of this community is to collectively be able to engage, educate and empower people through this platform. She is the author of the ‘My Metu and Lee’ an educational series written for children to learn about cancer, breast cancer and leukemia. I am so blessed that I found Dr. Sachedina, she is the best and I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Patient for more than 15 years

When I first met Dr. Shenin Sachedina, I really liked her and thought she genuinely cared about her patients. Unfortunately, I was sadly mistaken. When all the diagnostics were finished, I tried to make an appointment with Dr. Sachedina to discuss my breast cancer and upcoming chemotherapy. I could not get an appointment with her, only the PA. I told the office it was very important to me that I personally meet with Dr. Sachedina, but was told she would not meet with me because she didn’t consider my concerns important. After getting furious at yet another appointment with the PA, Dr. Sachedina reluctantly met with me. She told me that if she had to meet with all her patients who specifically requested to see her and not the PA, she would have to close her doors because she could not afford to stay open. She even had the audacity to justify her actions by telling me that even tho we don’t meet, she does so virtually because she always studies the files. When I asked her if… that were true, why did I still have numerous mistakes in my file after repeated requests to correct. She had no answer. Here is a perfect example of the opposite of what Dr. Sachedina said . At the final appointment, the PA asked me if I had any procedures in the last 6 months. I was shocked and responded by asking her if the removal of my upper right lung 2 months earlier would count. Dr. Sachedina and the office knew I was having the surgery, but the records obviously had not been looked at prior to my appointment.

I liked the doctor however extremely long wait times.you must make another appointment for results hence more money in co-pays. Didn't like be handed off to medical assistants. What was the deciding factor in not returning as a patient was a very very nasty voicemail from billing telling me I had to pay be the end of the week. My insurance had already paid. They tripled billed my insurance and contacted past employers looking for payment.

My experience with Dr. Sachidina and her office staff are exceptional. She is very good at thoroughly explaining your health issues. I would highly recommend her.

So saddened by my experience at this office. Staff and doctor truly need to revisit how to treat people who are understandably nervous when they come to these appointments. They would all do great if they worked in a laboratory with no patient interaction but waiting weeks for a biopsy, another full week for results is absolutely inexcusable. There are better places out there. I looked and found one and for that I’m grateful!

Ms. Sachedina had a terrible bed-side manner. Horrible experience for me at a critical time in my life. I hope she has improved because no one deserves to be spoken to in a negative manner when first given a cancer diagnosis.

I had a breast biopsy done 1 week ago. As of today I'm still in a lot of pain. I had a follow-up visit at which time I had to insist on getting medication to control inflammation. I am very bruised and did not expect to be in pain for so long. I have had biopsies before but nothing like this bruising. I have spoken to several people who have had breast biopsies and no one has experienced anything like this.

Unfortunately I guess my case was not a high priority. I was made to feel as if my past history with cancers is irrelevant because I did not have the reports in hand-insinuating I was lying. Very offended ! told to wait 6 months and see. This doctor and practitioner need to understand their patients' point of view and fears and stop trying to "educate" them. What your patients need is compassion regardless of what You consider severe or urgent. It is their bodies and their fears and their urgency

I came to see this doctor after my doctor assured me she was a good doctor and to get a second opinion * I called the office to ensure my they recieved my records, one employee said they did..two others said they didnt **Show up at the office they needed another record from my doctor ***they called me thinking I was from the doctors office ***the doctor came in and spent five min with me, she said she will give me a wealth of knowledge, well I guess that must be one of her statements because when she came in after 5 min she said she needed to take a lump out; ok then she said she had to go attend to cancer patients left without me asking any questions. I was expecting a more caring doctor, I guess If I have cancer then she will pay attention to me for more $$
