Dr. Spencer Thomas Bertram, MD

This doc was great at first but after a few neck radio frequencies he started cutting corners, changing staff and was not good at helping with my pain. He had his office manager complete my procedure while he walked around outside of the procedure room? My husband was very upset. He did not numb the area well and I was in painful agony during the procedure. He did not care! They did not last but I found a better doc now and they last a long time. Now he moved upstate and I cannot get my records. He is still doing these procedures, does not care about your pain and is very angry when talking to many patients. Beware of this man.

He did help me at his Rochester MI practice, then left and closed his practice. He has moved upstate and now working with a group. I am trying to get my records from his last practice and hit a wall. I called, sent a letter to hit and they are no place to be found and this is important to me as I need another rediofrequency. My new doctor way up northern MI said these would help a lot.

I came here for pain relief. The staff is rude, the Doctor is very rushed doing his procedures, does not take careful time with the patient, is not helpful with your issue, does not spend time with you when you come in for a consult and makes his conclusions fast say less than 10 minutes to come to a conclusion about if he can help you or not, will not return a phone call if you have a problem from a procedure ie more pain, staff is inexperienced which makes me nervous, the entire process is so bad that I would not want anyone I know seeing this man as he only cares what he is paid for by my insurance. HE DOES NOT CARE FOR YOU THE PATIENT!

Dr. Bertram is an excellent Doctor. He is caring, compassionate & well qualified in his field. We are grateful for his knowledge of pain management. He is through and always Professional.

Dr Bertram is a kind and compassionate man. His approach to treatment is personalized, proficient, & paramount. I have been to other “pain clinics” where treatment is more like an assembly line. That’s not the case with Dr Bertram. He truly has a concern for his patients. Dr Bertram has provided relief to my chronic back pain when others couldn’t. His knowledge and experience is priceless. And that’s why I drive more than a hour to his office. If you’re in extreme pain, this place is for you. td

I have an unusual disease and he is working with me to get relief. He cares and listens. None better.

I had a horrible fall 2 1/2 years ago and hurt myself badly especially my neck. I went to Dr. B. for help and he has excellent bedside manner, excellent diagnosis of my condition, reviewed all tests I brought and my MRI, asked a lot of questions and was honest what he could do to help me. His staff is very professional and nice. I first had the nerve blocks then had to try the radio frequency treatment for the cervical area and it really helped my pain. He told me that I had to scale back my upper body workout but could still do it. He helped me understand my pain and gave me hope from patient experience of what to expect. I now have this treatment two times a year. Sure I over do it sometimes but now I understand my pain and can deal with it when I mess it up from time to time. This Doctor gave me my life back and I am very grateful!

I have received the best care with Dr. Bertram and his staff. They are all very friendly and he is so caring and takes the time to listen. My pain is being managed very well and I recommend him to everyone. I actually have a friend that did go to him and is now pain-free!

Dr. B. is the best pain Doc. he and his staff is very professional and very nice. He took a detailed history and you do not see a PA but the Dr. himself! He is concerned with what is wrong with you, asked a lot of questions and then decided on your treatment. He is very caring and concerned. I had a bad fall that messed up my neck, horrible pain so bad I did not know what to do BUT it did not need to be fixed as Dr. B. stated to me to my relief. I already had treatment from another Dr. that hurt me much worse but this Dr. gave me my life back! It took a bit of time but he did it. I do have to come back every 6 months to have a procedure done to keep my pain in check but it is all so very worth it (and not neck surgery is a plus). Also, it was nice that this is not a "traditional" pain clinic so there is no pain patients camping out in the waiting room for medication. This place is not like that. This Doctor does pain procedures on an outpatient basis period. I am forever grateful… to Dr. Bertram and his skill to relieve my pain so I can function and lead a good health fulfilled life!!!
