Dr. Stephen George Milheim, MD

I had an appointment with Dr. Milheim to talk about a possible hernia mesh failure (I had the procedure done in a different state). I have been experiencing pain for a long time and have been to many doctors trying to get it figured out. He was recommended by my general physician as being "the mesh guy." When he came into the exam room to talk to me, he hadn't even bothered to look at the cat scan that was taken a few weeks prior. He was so abrupt and abrasive and basically discounted everything I told him. His bedside manner is horrific. I would recommend finding any other doctor and avoid him at all costs.

I can into the hospital needing emergency surgery for a strangulated hernia which also required a bowel resection. Thanks to the skills of Dr. Milheim he was able to perform this surgery without compromising the abdomen with impurities from the bowels. Even with a couple of problems after surgery; I spiked a fever and I had a little trouble with the bowels waking up I was still only in the hospital for 5 days.

Dr. Milheim did not take care of the problem and did not put any gloves on while checking me.

Botched my case so bad. He admitted he wears the reputation among his peers as being "a dinosaur". Is not up on the latest research. Appears to dislike his profession. Not available for follow-up. Said he intentionally works as few hours as possible. Wears a scoul on his face- seems angry. Snippy, sarcastic comments to serious questions. Dr's like this shouldn't be allowed to practice!
