Dr. Stephen Jerome Parazin, MD

While Dr. Parazin was good at explaining my recent MRI and the issues I've had with my neck for the last 5 years. (He is the second doctor I have seen) Note: I have done everything recommended except surgery. However, I was stunned when he said that like my great-great-great grandmother and her great-grandmother I should just "s**k" it up. I get it, not everything can be fixed. But really? It was disrespectful and snarky. When someone is in pain everyday is that funny? Is that how he talks to his male patients? Just asking.

Dr Parazin is always incredibly knowledgeable and professional He performed spinal fusion for me and actually gave me my life back!

Appreciate Dr. Parazin’s candor, skill, no nonsense approach and willingness to listen and assess. Have had two successful surgeries with him and anticipate a third in the near future. Trust him implicitly.

I had excrutiating leg pain (left) - sciatic nerve for almost 1 year, every single day. I saw Dr. Parazin after seeing three other doctors in major hospitals. They all wanted to put screws (fusion) on my spine. However, based on the images of my tests, a simple Laminectomy, discectomy and decompression would take care of the problem, at last initially according to Dr. Parazin. He was very honest with me and even told me that other doctors may want to do fusion right away because they make so much money on those surgery. Finally, he scheduled my surgery for a month after I saw him for the first time. The procedure itself took less than one hour, and I got out the hospital bed with NO LEG PAIN!!! I couldn't believe it! It has been almost 3 weeks, and I feel great. Even the incision is healing really fast (no stiches!) and I'm out of pain medicine already. Great doctor!!!

Straightforward with his assessment. I felt confident in my decision to have my 6th surgery (5th with Orthopedic Surgery of the Spine). Dr. Parazin did his best to calm my anxiety so I could make the needed decision.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr Parazin today with my 17 year old son who has a T1 Radiculopathyfrom a wrestling injury. Dr Parazin is clearly "top of the food chain" as far as orthopedics and spine surgeons go. He has tremendous experience and confidence yet no ego or condescending nature like many surgeons.. He communicates with ease at a level that's easily understood by non medical individuals. He is conservative and steered us away from a surgery initially yet gave us options in the event recovery doesn't goes as anticipated. I'm sure he is extremely capable of very complex spine surgeries and gave us comfort to know that he could probably perform the surgery we might require in his sleep. His bedside manner is maybe the best I've ever experienced. His entire staff did a tremendous job from start to finish. I highly recommend Dr Parazin and it's unlikely his equal exists in the Northeast, maybe nationally.

Iâ??ve had 2 spinal fusions with the best Doc. He is so compassionate, and a great surgeon. Had a spinal fusion before I saw Dr. Parazin. The Doctor Blazar put my fusion in upside down. Thank god for Dr. Parazin. I was finally out of pain.
