Steven Lee

Dr Steven Lee was very unprofessional during my pre cataract surgery consultation. He would not answer several questions and said, "You're eye doctor can answer that" (even though I didn't have another appointment with my regular eye doctor until after the surgery), as if he either didn't know the answer or didn't want to take the time to explain. He would not discuss the type of procedure he uses and was very short, comparing it to knee surgery. He has poor communication skills which led to no confidence in his knowledge or surgical ability. Based on the fact that he couldn't or wouldn't take time to discuss the surgery or options, I decided to cancel the surgery with him. I had to leave a voice message at his office to cancel my surgery and never received a call back. If Dr. Lee has performed so many surgical eye procedures that he doesn't feel the need he has to explain everything anymore to someone who has never experienced anything like that, then maybe it's time to retire. … There are plenty of other competent doctors out there-don't settle for someone you're not comfortable with.

Dr Steven F. Lee performed cataract surgery on me and did a fantastic job. I was very reluctant to even make the initial appointment. However when I did finally call, I spoke to his assistant Mary who took the time to answer all of my questions and really put me at ease. When I met Dr Lee my confidence level went even higher. I went ahead with the surgery and opted not to get anesthetized. I have to admit; on the way to the surgery I was totally second guessing my decision to be awkake while some guy carved on my eyeball. As it turned out, Dr Lee was very smooth, precise, and quick. He and his well trained staff have now made my other eye quite jealous! Thank you and all your staff at Opthalmology Consultants for a job well done!

He is nice, does not share much, wants you to ask the questions, see his staf for about an hour and then get 5-10 min with him...

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH DR. LEE, CHANGED DOCTORS TO GET CLOSER TO CITY, BUT AM NOT PLANNING TO CHANGE BACK.

I went to see Dr. Lee for a relatively simple procedure. I ended up getting an infection which could have cost me my eye. I found him to be aloof, condescending, unsympathetic, and uncaring. He has zero bedside manner. I cannot in good conscience recommend him.

Dr. Steven F Lee, MD, has blinded the eye of our family friend. Dr. Steven F. Lee & his staff don't use sterilized tools and these tools cause people to go blind just like our family friend. The poor lady was really healthy and now has been going through depression after he left her without one eye. DON'T GO TO HIM IF YOU WANT TO GO BLIND.

Had both eyes done...over 10 years ago... no problems with eyes since and can see 20/20 distance and use 125 reading glasses for small print. Worked for Dr. Pepos when starting practice...

I would not trust my eyes to Dr. Steven F Lee, MD.

. The diagnosis was if it was for another patient. He came in with out reading anything and was not aware I was at the office for more than an eye exam I can get from Walmart. The doctor does not seem to be in the business of healing, just running an optical factory. The doctor suggested I check SLU or Wash U. for a follow up / 2nd opinion. Waste of time
