Dr. Taylor Clay Bear, MD

Unbelievable. I am extremely ill and can barely walk from neurological issues. Saw him 2 months ago and he ordered bloodwork. Bloodwork they have had for over two weeks. I can get no response or followup in spite of repeated calls and portal messages. I will be left to go to an ER where no one can do anything.

This was the best all around experience I've in years at a doctor's office. Staff was kind and efficient. Dr. Bear didn't keep me waiting; examined me thoroughly; patiently answered my questions and helped me to understand the condition. He steered me toward natural solutions instead of Rx when reasonable and didn't load me down with further testing I didn't need. He allow me to be a part of those decisions carefully explaining the pros and cons. He was kind and personable. I was fan when I left. This man needs to be a teacher. He understands this.

Dr. Bear was patient, kind and listened to what I had to say. His staff was also compassionate and very friendly. I don’t “get” the negative reviews - Dr Bear and staff were exceptional in all areas.

I was very disappointed with Dr. Bear and his bedside manner. Went to see Dr. Bear for a neuropathy test, setup by my Primary Care Doctor, was my first visit. I started to ask question concerning neuropathy because I had never experienced this before and Dr. Baer stated that I was scheduled for a test not a consultation and he would not answer any questions. I got very perturbed with him for refusing to answer any question, and he said that if I didn’t like that I could cancel my test. Fourteen years of experience hasn’t help Dr. Bear learn how to communicate with his patients. Obliviously reading these reviews I would not recommend him to anyone, go to Chattanooga if you have to. I found Dr. Bear to be very arrogant and unhelpful; Tennova Healthcare should screen their doctors better or at least find a new Neurologist. I’ll think twice about using any doctors affiliated with Tennova Healthcare in the future.

I went to this Place complaining of headaches and nerve pains, the First appointment went OK but they only wanted to run tests and did not write any medicines, when I went back they said they did Not see any thing wrong with me and That's When the Nurse Practitioner started screaming, and talking to me in the most Evil and Rude, voice Saying That women like me are whats wrong with America Trying to Fake Illnesses to get pain medicines. She Then Said that there is Nothing she can do to help me and said I was Dismissed from the Practice, I just don't understand? This WOMAN IS EVIL, I never Met the Doctor, But from the Reviews on here on don't think I wanted to anyway.

i am very dissatisfied with this doctor and his nurse we have been back and forth with this office for a month still haven't got my dad a referral for erlanger and the nurse doesn't know what the heck she is talking about keep putting things of i would not take my dog to this place so discussed with the lack of compassion they have for there patients

My first experience with Dr Bear was not the best at all. I had a situation develop with my health that was totally unexpected, and very frightening. My MD recommended Dr Bear and said he was supposed to be the best neurologist in the area. I found his bedside manner to non-existent. I kept explaining to him that I had no idea how I was going to do the things I normally do to be able to get to work and all, I had a seizure and was told no driving for 6 months, me being a single woman with no family in this state.. I was completely frustrated. When I expressed this his response was, “well I suggest you get ahold of your state representative if you have issues with the laws of the state,” and I said no sir that is it what I am saying, to which he responded with, “ ma’am You have to understand that they do not pay me to be compassionate in the type of field!” I became angry and replied, no sir my insurance and my copayments pay you to have a little compassion and sympathy.” At this… time he stood up and exiting the room saying good day ma’am see you in 6 months. To who each time I have went to a follow up I have never seen him face to face again. He is rude, inconsiderate, and has no business practicing medicine in this manner. Karma is not fun, but more than that he needs to be reminded of the hippo ratio oath that he took before becoming a doctor! I wouldn’t recommend him to my worst enemy!

He was dismissive of proven facts associated with my condition and proved difficult to have a meaningful conversation with. His office then charged me $500 for the worthless fifteen minute conversation after they assured me I would only owe $40. I highly recommend going to a doctor who is honest and willing to actually listen to your problems, not him.

Extremely arrogant. Did not listen to me. I had been very sick. And basically I was just pleading for help. I was in tears. His response was to say you can just get another opinion. He did nothing to help me. Since my appointment I have been diagnosis with a serious autoimmune disease. And that has caused heart condition. If you want a doctor that is compassionate that can show empathy Dr Bear is NOT the Dr. to go to!!
