Horrible don't waste your time

Unfortunately, this is a tale much like Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. My first visit with Andress was wonderful. I had a kid. stone and he took time to listen and help. Since then, I have had pain in my right back. I saw my GP who did a CT which showed nothing abnormal. Yet, the pain persisted. I went back to Andress b/c of the first visit and the care I received hoping he could help. But from the moment he walked in the door he seemed perturbed and was antagonistic. He offered no greeting and did not even ask what the issue was. He just walked in and pronounced that this appointment was a waste of time. The CT scan showed there was nothing wrong. Therefore, he said my pain is [and I quote] "just my medical condition that I would just have to learn to live with." I tried to redirect and explain what I was going through but his tone and answers were both direct and demeaning. I dont know if he was having a bad day but I was shocked. I never write a review but I wanted to warn others.

MY FATHER WENT TO SEE DR. ANDRESS FOR A REOCCURRING UTI. HE ADVISED THAT MY DAD WAS EMPTYING HIS BLADDER BETTER. THERE WERE WHITE BLOOD CELLS IN HIS URINE AND HE WOULD SEND IT OFF AND CONTACT US IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM. TODAY, THE DAY AFTER MY DAD'S TEMPERATURE CAME BACK AGAIN. WE ARE AT THE ER AND THE UROLOGIST HERE ADVISES THAT HE HAS AN OBSTRUCTION IN HIS BLADDER AND NEEDS EMERGENCY SURGERY!

I am a patient of Andress and at first he was very thorough and caring, but then after a scope he said he saw cancer in my kidney, so he took that one out. Then 3 mo later he stated no its in your bladder, mind you he had already removed one kidney, I did go ahead and let him biopsy the bladder, he stated there were cancer cells present. Had complications with bleeding after procedure, I was afraid and went straight to his office, he was livid, stated he gets off early on fridays and was really rude, should have changed then, he would never refer me to an oncologist like my family asked , he just kept saying I see and treat this all the time, Going will be a waste if your time, niw listening to him my bkadder cancer is much worse and guess what, I need an oncologist. Andress needs to learn to stick with his specialty and not be so arrogant that he won't admit when he's wrong !!!!!

He was nice at first, but as time went by and he did surgery on my bladder, I was still having bladder infections and he became less interested and in my condition ,spent less time with me and was rude speaking to me on several occasions. He tried to say I had IC and kept trying to push the drug Elmoron on me everytime I saw him and I had researched the drug and it had many bad side effects including that you may lose some of you hair in spots, so I wanted to try any alternative. He only wanted me to take that drug. I did not and got better on my own with time. I did not have IC. I haven't had anymore problems with that pain. I believe the pain was caused by them always wanting a sterile catheration everytime I went. One nurse caused a lot of pain doing this by poking the cather too far into my bladder and it felt like she was poking a whole in my bladder. Now I am having more complcation where he did the surgery on my bladder and needless to say I have not been back to him and am… going to a different urologist.

Very complete, always cares, honest in his appraisal, forthcoming in all his conversation....... one of the best doctors I have ever visited.

Very thorough and personable. Gives a detailed written report at end of visit. I had the TURP procedure done and I am very satisfied with the results.

Dr Andress took time to explain the procedure and was good to answer questions.He is friendly and acts like he cares. He called me at my home to give me the results and scheduled follow up with me and my family to discuss options and treatment.

Upon my first visit, the dr. told me to "go look up interstitial cystitis on Google and see if that is you."Second visit, he indicated I may have IC, and proposed some treatments, without explaining any benefits or lack thereof of them.then he ran out of the room as I attempted to ask about the importance of diet in controlling IC, and he told a nurse to go get a printout for me and she eventually found one and handed it to me. The info on it was a bit helpful but very incomplete.I did have IC, as it turns out, an am still trying to get another appointment to get a refill on Elmorion, which has worked for me.The staff demands a urine specimen every time, "just in case he wants it" and the urinalysis is done every visit anyway, without anyone telling me what was found as a result of the tests. Next time, I will refuse to give a sample, because of this, and we will see how they react. (When I hesitated one time to do so and asked for an explanation, the nurse got testy and demanded… it.)
