Dr. William Joseph Oktavec, MD

My eye is worse after having cataract surgery. There is debris under the lens, the wrong lens was put in and the only way they wanted to correct the issue was with drops that raised the pressure. I have had another surgery to correct the issue & will have to have another lens put in due to Dr. O’ s mistakes. Think twice before letting him or his daughter touch you! Please get another opinion

Unfortunately, what began as a very efficient 9am appointment ended after two hours in the office with a less than positive feeling. The staff and Dr.Octavek do a very thorough exam. Today all we well until I was placed in the last room where I was told by the person that Dr. Octavek was with another patient and would be with me in about 5 minutes. Unfortunately, I saw no one for another 35 minutes! Dr Octavek upon entering and asking me how I was received the brunt of my frustrations. If anyone had taken 10 seconds to open the door and tell me that the doctor was delayed with post op or that they were waiting for a report from the retina specialist...I would have fully understood. Their mishap was in not having the courtesy to do just that! Hopefully, with me voicing my frustration over this the good doctor will ask his staff to be more cognizant of the patient’s time and extend the simple courtesy of informing a patient waiting over 30 minutes that there is a delay...especially… when told “ around 5 “ would be the wait. Other than that, I have no issues and feel the staff and Dr Octavek offer a very thorough exam.

Sweat shop.......arrived for 9:30 appointment along with 10 other people. Left after 40 min. No consideration for people's time. This is the sort of place that just books many people for same time slot. They place you in room for another wait. All about them.

RUN, Run,Run as fast as you can and as far away as you can!!! This guy blinded my mom during a standard cataract surgery. on follow up visit, all he said is that my mom had to go to a specialist immediately !!! His office NEVER FOLLOWED UP WITH HER!!!! She had to have 2 more eye surgeries and is now blind!!! At specialist office we hear many horror stories about Dr. Oktavec. Many of his patients were there with the same problem, failed cataract surgery. If Dr. Oktavec is in your network of insurance, you should seriously consider paying out of pocket for a highly skilled doctor. YOU ONLY HAVE TWO EYES!!!!

Dr. Oktavec is extremely thorough. He and his staff are very welcoming as well.
