Dr. Willie V Melvin III, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Melvin for about 15 years. When he left Vanderbilt and went to Stonecrest Medical Center, I followed him. He does treat his patients special. A little over a year ago, I had to undergo surgery and I had to be intubated 4-5 times. I was on life support for almost a week. He called my son and told him he needed to come back to the hospital that I had made a turn for the worst and he had to put me in ICU. We live 3 hours away in Weat Tennessee and as the saying goes “It’s worth the drive!” He had to remove 3/4 of my stomach in 2016 and it has been a life changing experience for me as I was 66 when I had to have the surgery. He does treat you so good, he certainly took good of me every surgery. I have had a feeding tube for 14-15 years and that enables me to get my nutrition! I cannot say how special he is to my family and to me. His associates are superior and have helped out with me many times. He is such a blessing to me and my family.

Dr. Melvin and his staff are top notch. His staff took the time to resolve a problem with my sister's insurance, making calls and sending faxs ensuring that we were able to be seen and keep the appointment. Dr. Melvin has a great bedside manner, I'm very confident in his knowledge and understanding on how to attack and speed up the healing process of my sister's long term illness. Will post more as this process takes place.

I've had him as my surgeon for many years, I came to him at the worst part of my of my life and if i hasn't i probably wouldn't be alive today. He's one of the best & brilliant, caring and fun doctors I've ever had the pleasure to be around. Who ever ends up with him as a patient, would be extremely lucky to have him. He does not rush you, he truly listens.

Dr Melvin saved my wife's life. He is very professional and great doctor. He has the best bed side manner. I would recommend him to anyone he's a great man.

Dr. Melvin is my Gastroparesis Specialist & Surgeon. You could not find a more caring, kind and knowledgeable doctor. He is simply wonderful and his staff is as nice as he is. I highly recommend this doctor.
