Dr Moorman is awesome!!! Both my sons love him!!!

Aside from the front office staff whose customer service skills and friendliness is usually on the cold and mechanical side (in a pediatric office!), Dr Moorman and the nurses within has always been awesome for my boys and me. We had to leave the doctor/practice prior to finding Dr Moorman because that physician always seemed to not know what was going on with my oldest and I was becoming very concerned..and somewhat anxious. A friend recommended Prov-Pediatrics but the other doctors were booked or not taking new patients so we got scheduled with Dr Moorman likely due to his 'new' experience and recently joining this practice venue, but for us it was a blessing in disguise and a great find. On our first visit in 2009, knowing of his experience, he positively diagnosed what was going on with my baby and handled everything with confidence and care. He impressed me with his calm and likeable bedside manner. Gentle and well-spoken in explaining things to me. All of us have had nothing but… good experiences from him and nurse, Brandy, thereon out, including understanding with empathy towards me as the parent, calm demeanor with my sons (even a 'light show' turning off the room light so Dr Moorman could wave his pen light around to entertain my oldest so he would calm down for his shots), and showing so much care and concern by evidence of his follow up calls. A couple of which he didn't have to make because it wasn't urgent but he cared and did so anyway! How awesome is that? When I gave birth to my 2nd baby, Dr Moorman was doing rounds at CMC-Pineville and came in for a good brief visit, not just a 2 minute stint to say that Providence Pediatrics is there for us. He knew my concerns of jaundice (both my kids were bili-babies) and he was very much on top of it, getting tests completed, etc. which kept me calm and in touch with everything.I did accept an appt for my son to see another doctor in the same practice because Dr Moorman was out that week, that I absolutely would not take either of my boys to see again. Yet that same doctor got good reviews whereas I felt his bedside manner was arrogant and condescending and he was brusque with my son. I have no doubt that the other poor review left by another person here had a bad experience with Dr Moorman and I certainly won't defend it. I can only say that our experience is totally opposite. Dr. Moorman's personality and demeanor is a very gentle one. It's what fits our family. Unless we move, he is our choice pediatrician that I would and have recommended to friends/family. =)

I made the mistake of seeing Dr. Moorman. He is inexperienced, unprofessional and has done nothing in helping me diagnose my daughter's critical aliment. I am so so disappointed and am thrilled to leave this practice to see a REAL Dr. Dr. Moorman only has 2 years experience so please consider that. Before my daughter's diagnosis, she was a vision of health and when I expressed my concerns that his lack of attention was inadequate that that we needed more help, HE DID NOTHING!!!!! Completely useless!!! IF you do use this practice, then definitely see a different Dr with more experience and bedside manner. I felt an obligation to express this so that someone else doesn't have to go through the mess we did and if God forbid, there is a life threatening situation for your child, then you should most definitely have NOTHING to do with Dr. Moorman. I can't say enough about how terribly disappointed I am. :(
