TOSH handled my pain management perfectly. I am disappointed that Van Boreum doesn’t give a rats rear about lingering pain issues…too busy with pleasing the status quo in controlling pain medication prescriptions. Let adults be adults.

Bad experience with this doctor. Didn't want to listen to me AT ALL!! told me he wouldn't do surgery on me right now but if I waited 6 weeks then he would consider it. He wasn't friendly AT ALL!!! told me the other doctor was wrong. He was my second opinion for workers comp to approve my surgery on my foot. They never want to pay for anything anyways. So I guess that's why they send you to a doctor like this. I know someone else that had a second opinion from this doctor and he told them they didn't need surgery also. But they ended up getting surgery done on their foot. He's a joke and would never recommend this doctor to anyone else.

I saw Dr Van Boerum for severe arthritis in my big toe. He told me (without making eye contact the entire visit) that nothing could be done and the toe joints would need to be fused. I was shocked by this and asked in my surprise how I would be able to run with a fused toe. He responded literally “you won’t.” And that’s all. I’m in my 20’s and I’m an athlete/fitnes lover so this was super upsetting news. When I started to tear up and asked him if there were any other options that might leave me with the ability to walk/run normally he suggested that since I didn’t believe him I should find another doctor so they can tell me the same thing. And that was the whole visit. I genuinely believe this doctor lacks the ability to feel empathy. And while that may not be entirely his fault I certainly won’t be letting him operate on me. Plus, after doing what he said and researching other doctors I’ve found there are a TON of options for my condition other than permanent fusion. Just FYI.

After seeing many doctors for an ankle issue with my daughter Dr VanBoerum was the only one able to correctly diagnose and treat her. Unfortunately she has had multiple surgeries for the issue but thankfully he is an excellent doctor who has taken good care of her. Will not see anyone else!!
