Dr. Dwight Alan Bergquist, MD

I've known Dr. Dwight Bergquist for well over 32 years off & on since 1997 & now going on 21 years of good & careful treatment for my OCD prognastications. He's good & has a wonderful bit of a quirky sense of humor at times who makes me laugh which is fantastic. He's one of a kind. His method is supreme. We have conference calls some 4 or more times per year from Lakewood to Bakersfield since 2003 I believe. He's rational & he knows His stuff as well as neurology & all his medications. He's very agreeable & we have allowed compromise to where I can stay at a certain level with my meds as per agreement to my OCD since 1966. The meds help & do their work which can control the alien type thinking or threatening thoughts within my mind's eye for my type of personality. I am a bit eccentric dark horse myself. He allows me to leave messages & returns my infrequent calls & He's even rated my short stories as very intriquing & has commented favorably most of my writings I've mailed him. He… even let me buy him a Carl's Jr. Hamburger from near his office back in 2009 when I last visited him in person from Bakersfield, Ca. Although it was his cash He loaned me way back when! I like him & he's one of the best of his forte west of the MIssissippi. I trust his knowledge & wisdom. He is prudent with his patients & practice. Never retire Dr. Bergquist; you are too good. Your many patients would miss you. I know I would. RMA out; Bakersfield....

He's not only a great doctor with the Gift, he's also one of the coolest guys walking the face of the planet.

dr bergqust, is a wonderful dtr. he has been treating me for 12 yrs. he always calls back when left a message. he is always there to help

He is incredibly smart, returns phone calls promptly, and is a caring individual. However, if you need additional care or more intense treatment, he will call you out on that. He does not mince words. I also like about him that he doesn't just write you a prescription and rush you out of there. He takes time with you and also recommends non-medication solutions to problems you may be experiencing. Great man, great doctor. I wouldn't trust another doctor with my psychiatric needs outside of him.

HE WAS ON-CALL ONE WEEKEND AND NEVER CALLED FAMILY REGARDING MY BEST FRIEND'S STATUS. HE EXTENDED MY BEST FRIEND'S STAY AT THE COLLEGE HOSPITAL OF CERRITOS BECAUSE HE IS JUST TRYING TO GET MONEY FROM HER INSURANCE. SHE MET NO CRITERIA FOR STAYING THERE. SHE WENT FROM 5150 TO 5250, BUT SHE WAS NOT AN IMMEDIATE DANGER TO HERSELF OR OTHERS, AND NOT GRAVELY DISABLED. I AM AN RN, NOT IN PSYCH, BUT I DID MY RESEARCH. HER FAMILY AND I KEPT TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF HIM BUT HE DELIBERATELY AVOIDED US. I EVEN GOT ON THE PHONE WITH HIM BUT HE HUNG UP ON ME AND NEVER GOT BACK IN TOUCH. DON'T EVER SEE THIS GUY...HE IS IN HEALTHCARE FOR HIMSELF, NOT TO SERVE OTHERS FOR THEIR WELL-BEING
