Dr Dylan B. Hickey, DO

I have been seeing Dr. Hickey for several years. He has helped and guided me through a heart issue that required several procedures as well as a complicated lung infection. Dr. Hickey is outstanding in his knowledge of medical issues and treatments. He is thoughtful and takes time to understand the core problem so that he can recommend a treatment that solves the underlying problem rather than merely treating symptoms.

Don't listen to the disgruntled reviewers below. Dr. Hickey is great. He stays current with the latest medical research, listens to us as people rather than just a patient, and has an upbeat demeanor.

Dr. Hickey was a terrible communicator, questioning my knowledge of my own medical history. Instead of telling me the terms under which he would be comfortable providing a referral, he repeatedly badgered me with the sam questions, over and over again, as to why I would need one. I have been through a lot, medically. I have never left a doctors office without finishing the appt. In this case, I felt I had to leave to protect the quality of my health care; because he obviously didn't have basic knowledge of my medical issues, or he would have known that referral to a high level specialist at a tertiary care center is essential to my quality healthcare. I have one of the most complicated urological issues that even doctors at John's hopkins have ever seen, what makes him think he knows better than every specialist I've seen in 50 years?

This time, I literally had to leave his office in tears in order to protect the quality of my healthcare.

My experience with hickey was creepy he has no personality he doesn't talk much just look at you with creepy stares he never asked about the pain I feel daily I suffer from cronic pain he just sat there boring real birding guy I used Dr that actually care and want to help to make things better for you this gut not interested he just gave me the creeps good luck this one

Dr. Hickey is an excellent diagnostician. He saw flags on day 1 that all of my older PCPs from over the years blatantly missed and misdiagnosed. He is extremely patient and very empathetic. One of my first experiences where I was in the examination room for 30-40 minutes with a Dr patiently hearing me out rather than dash to the next appointment. His explanation of what was happening with me was thorough and answered each and every one of my questions and concerns. You can't go wrong with him!
