Dr. Ed Jose Borrego, MD

Dr. Borrego has been my Psychologist for 12 years and he has been on my side listening to my concerns never making me FEEL like I’m crazy. He is always on the ball figuring how my chemistry will work with something different without changing everything too much. Very comfortable with this doctor!

Heard great things about Dr Borrego after been referred in Sept. I scheduled an appointment but was left with a voicemail from Grace, the day before to advise on my insurance and cost and implied I may not be able to afford the appointment and to call back. She told me she would reschedule me for Oct 9th but never did and when trying to call and schedule a new appointment, she condescendingly replied that he was not taking new patients. I will be asking for a referral to another Dr. Save yourself the headache of trying to get past the receptionist.

I really like the new office staff who is a young lady. She is kind unlike Gracie. Being a person who suffers from depression and a low self esteem she treated me with kindness this week and for that I am truly grateful. If Gracie still works there she should learn from her!

I never made it past the appointment stage. Office staff refused to verify my insurance because it was FRIDAY! The office manager stated that she did not want to mess with me and she did not have to explain herself. She said she would check insurance the day before the visit. I stated that I would need to leave work early and would like to have the insurance verified prior in case of any unforeseen issues. She refused. She stated that she doesn't write the insurance policies and she has no control. Which made no sense because I was just trying to make an initial appointment. She proceeded to ask me if I would like Dr. Borrego to chew me out. She then placed me on speaker phone for what I am guessing was office enjoyment and she proceeded to verbally abuse me while laughing. She then hung up on me. This being a psychiatry office, putting someone like this as a first point of contact is scary. She is a liability. I will contacting the proper people to pass on the documented conversation… and possibly go forward with seeing what I can do as far as the verbal abuse I was subjected to during the ordeal. DO NOT GO HERE! She stated if she had it her way they would double book patients "ALL DAY LONG". This was insane.

Dr. Borrego is a compassionate, caring and dedicated professional. He saved me. He literally saved my life and is the reason I am surviving the journey of mental illness. There are not enough words that I can say to tell you what a wonderful doctor and staff he has. God Bless you Dr. Borrego.

I really like him and that is the only reason I continue to see him. His staff is so rude and I don't think realizes the sensitivity of their patients nature. They take forever to answer the phone and just don't seem to care about the patient.

I am comfortable talking with him and feel that he really listens. After only 6 months I feel we have a good relationship and that he truly cares about me and I'm not just another patient. This is important to me, as I've seen a number of psychiatrists and never really felt safe.

Horrible staff. After 9 years, i received a letter from the dr saying, he will no longer treat me. Dont use him. They wont send prescriptions to pharmacy by phone, fax, or other unless the dr does it himself.

Dr. Borrego is knowledgable with his diagnosis and care. He truly cares about each patient. His secretary on the other hand is rude, evil, and could care less about his patients. I have come to the conclusion that Gracie and Dr. Borrego are an item otherwise he would not continue having such a rude and mean secretary caring for his patients.

Dr. Borrego is excellent. His front office staff person is rude and can be very obnoxious. She needs to adjust her attitude or do work that doesn't involve customer service and kindness.
