Edgar OrlandoLpezdeCastro Delgado, MD

Dr. Edgar Lopez is a psychiatry resident at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NYC. He is currently providing outpatient psychiatry services to a diverse population and offers comprehensive treatment for mental health disorders, including but not limited to Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized, Anxiety Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder. He is acquainted with the use of remote interviewing and the facilitation of seamless interaction with his patients.

Dr. Lopez holds a medical degree from the University of Medical Sciences of Sancti Spiritus, Cuba. He also holds a masters degree in pharmacology, Development, Evaluation, and Rational Use of Medications from The University of Basque Country. Dr. Lopez firmly believes in a holistic approach to treatment, that considers the patient as a whole. He will prescribe psychotropic medications, when necessary, tailored to the specific patient requirements and comorbidities. He also addresses the psychosocial aspects of mental illness with a …cognitive-behavioral approach. He empowers the patient on their own healing process, emphasizing brain-healthy nutrition, exercise, and meditation.

Dr. Lopez is fluent in English and Spanish. His greater passion is helping those who are in need the most. He is committed to patient care. His interests are diverse and include history and literature among others. He enjoys and promotes activities that build on improving human wellbeing, including socializing, practicing sports, and charities.
