I highly recommend Dr. Evangelista. He is conscientious, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. I have had a knee injury for many years which always got in the way of various sports - but was never severe enough for surgery. Dr. Evangelista worked with me, spending the time to really understand the problem and ultimately treated my knee with both platelets and bone marrow. The procedures were relatively painless and have helped get my knee feeling the best it's been in a decade! I've also been to him with shoulder and elbow injuries. He came up w effective treatment plans for those, as well. As an athlete himself, I've always felt that he could relate to my desire to get back to sports and an active lifestyle. Bottom line: I always see Dr. Evangelista for any of my orthopedic issues.

Dr. Evangelista is always caring, compassionate, and takes the time to really listen. He is very knowledgeable and up to date on the most recent medical advances. His staff is friendly and timely. I always feel like I get the absolute best care when I see him and his team.

Dr. E will listen. He takes time with his patients and truly listens. Too often a doctor is quick to offer a treatment plan based on what 'they' have to offer. I found that Dr. Evangelista will offer referrals and guidance rather than taking the "know it all" approach. He will listen to your issues and formulate a treatment plan that will give you the greatest chance for success. He will guide you along the way and offer clear reasoning why you should proceed or stop you from potentially making poor choices. This is the kind of doctor you want in your court.

About five years ago, I had a major tear of my upper hamstring while playing softball. My regular doctor recommended physical therapy and the physical therapist said it would probably take months to get me back to where I could run and play like I used to. I called Dr. Evangelista and he suggested something that was relatively new at the time, a PRP (Plasma Rich Platelets) injection. It worked like a charm. In less than three weeks I was running with no pain and have had no issues with my hamstring since. I highly recommend Dr. Evangelista if you are trying to avoid a major surgery, as you may find out that major surgery is not necessary. Any sports Related injury, Dr. Evangelista should be your first call. He It's easy to speak to and communicates in terms that are easy to understand for those with no medical experience. The office staff is very friendly and efficient.

I saw Dr. Evangelista for a number of years for back and neck pain. He would assign me physical therapy and occasional steroids for my pain. As my problems progressed to the point that I was developing radiculopathy, could no longer tolerate physical therapy, and became unable to do ordinary things, he STILL would only prescribe physical therapy. He denied that I could have pinched nerves when I asked. After noticing that my radiologist reports were much more insightful and truthful then what the doctor told me, I sought help elsewhere. I finally found a surgeon who did a tri level ACDF due to three herniated disks and obviously a ton of nerve compression. Quickly after surgery, the pain was gone. I believe this doctor to have left me with severe damage and pain for years until I got proper help.

I was referred to Dr. Evangelista for pain management. The office staff is very pleasant, however, there seems to be some general operational areas within this practice that need some attention. Wait times and notifications to patients that the doctor is running behind schedule: I waited 1 hour and 17 minutes to be called into the room, I waited another 10 minutes in the room to see the doctor. This wait time was excessive and I should have been notified that schedules were running behind or possibly rescheduled for another time. After my visit, I was sent to have an MRI which took five days to schedule because all calls into the office are routed into a voice mail system, which turns appointment scheduling into a disappointment game of phone tag. Following the MRI, I tried to schedule a follow up appointment and was told the only way I could get into to see someone within the next few weeks would be to have the follow up with the PA, not the doctor. If I want to see the… doctor, the next available appointment is more than one month into the future. Again, the staff at this office are very pleasant but their operating model has much to be desired. Quality of care should come first, second and third. Patient volume should be something that a doctor's office achieves through a successful operating system, not by forcing appointments onto the calendar and making patients wait hours, days and months for follow up.

As somebody who used to own a company that covertly recorded and utilized "game film" of customer service and sales experiences to conduct training workshops tailored to improve the quality of interactions with interfacing staff, I am acutely sensitive and well qualified to speak regarding the subtle details that have such a profound impact on a companyâ??s reputation in customer-centric areas. I am very impressed with the perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism that I encountered throughout my treatment at Community Orthopedic. If I were asked to come up with a criticism of any aspect of my experience, I honestly would not be able. Everyone I encountered was awesome, and I was made to feel like any one of the staff would have gone above and beyond the call of duty for me. I am not an easy customer. I have high standards, ask a lot of questions, am unnervingly careful about verifying every aspect of my treatment and costs in advance, etc. Many places I have… been either drop the ball in meeting my expectations or grow impatient with my requests. Community Ortho scored glowing marks in both of these areas. Of special note was Dr. Edmund Evangelistaâ??s outstanding bedside manner. He really listens to his patients and is very thorough in his methodology of getting to the root cause. While in his office, you get the feeling that he really cares. He is professional, intelligent, humble, considerate, and makes you feel important. I was very nervous about having a procedure done that I was told could be pretty painful. Dr. Evangelista patiently answered a barrage of my questions, and explained what he was doing every step of the way. His careful execution seemed very gentle. I was both relieved and grateful to get out of there with very little pain at all. I would definitely recommend Community Orthopedic and Dr. Evangelista to anyone in need of relevant services. The group is noticeably well run, and the staff is a paradigm of excellence in customer service and professionalism.

Was referred here for pain managment. Dr. Evangalista spent a huge amount of time listening and asking questions. Seemed to just take in the information but when it came to actually helping he offered no treatment option but rather just referred it out to someone else. Felt like he just passed me off to another dr because he didn't want to deal with my case.
