Dr. Edmundo D Yrigoyen, MD

Office staff very rude. I work for an agency and was faxing orders the lady who I guess handles the orders called and stated that they do not except faxed orders (which I understand because some doctors don't) but she was very unprofessional was speaking over me and hung up before I could even verify address to mail them to. I suggest training staff to talk to others in a professional manner. This is totally unacceptable and I do not want my patients going there if this is how the staff will be treating them.

When the office seemed more and more congested I asked him if he was having problems with staff, etc. He said they are a teaching site and when have several brand new students to orient it can get behind the 1st week or so. They are also in process of doubling office space and hiring more staff to ease the congestion. I also wanted more refills and was told my insurance makes me come in for labs every 3 refills and he can't refill my pain pills any more and have come in every time. This is the same thing my Mom's doctor said too (so I guess that's right). I am just glad Dr. Y. takes time to listen and talk to me, and he calls me back to tell me my labs even when they are all normal!

I have been to see Dr Yrigoyen as my primary care physician half a dozen times. I have never waited less than 2 hours to be seen, never spent more than 5 minutes with the doctor, and have never been in his office when he did not see pharmaceutical reps ahead of patients. I take oral meds for diabetes. Dr Yrigoyen limits all of my prescriptions to 2 refills. The man is a pill merchant. Expect horrendous wait times and to be held hostage by his office for meds. I wish 0 stars was an option here.

Dr Yrigoyen is courteous, compassionate, caring, and a wonderful doctor. He really cares about his patients and it shows. Not only has he been my doctor, but, I worked with him from the hospital where I worked and he showed the same attributes in this area as well. I do and have recommended him to my family and friends.
