Eduardo Carrera, MD

Eduardo Carrera, MD, is an interventional pain specialist board certified in pain medicine as well as physical medicine and rehabilitation. He specializes in the management of chronic spine, joint, and nerve pain. In his practice, Dr. Carrera performs a variety of routine and advanced procedures to manage pain, including joint injections, epidural steroid injections, kyphoplasty (treatment for vertebral compression fractures), nerve blocks, nerve ablations to treat neck, back and joint pain, joints, or tendons, and spinal cord stimulator trials. Dr. Carrera has expertise in ultrasound and X-ray guided procedures. He strives to make procedures as comfortable as possible and use the latest technology to help patients gain control of their pain. He believes that knowing and understanding what is happening to one's body empowers patients to make the best decisions for themselves and no longer be afraid of the unknown.
Dr. Carrera received his medical degree from the University of Colorado …School of Medicine, where he was awarded the Spirit of SNMA Award from the Student National Medical Association. At the University of Colorado, he went on to complete a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation, winning the Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, followed by advanced fellowship training in pain management.
In his free time, Dr. Carrera enjoys traveling, tennis, racquetball and going on hikes with his wife and dogs.

Dr. Carrera is passionate about helping patients get back into the activities they enjoy, whether that is being able to walk with their grandchildren or returning to elite sports. He utilizes a combination of minimally invasive procedures and physical therapy tailored to each individual's needs.
