Excellent doctor! Will still take patients with Medicare without them having to pay "concierge" fees. Would'nt go to any other doctor!

I had no problem with the initial service at Dr. Fielder's office. However, about 4 months after my visit I got a nasty call from someone in billing telling me I had a small balance and they wanted me to pay over the phone. Since I couldn't verify who was actually on the other end of the line, I told them to send me a bill and I'd make sure it got taken care of. The lady then said, "we've already sent you a bill three times!". In quite a nasty tone. I told her I never got the bills they were talking about and we ended the conversation. I called the office back to speak with the manager and come to find out, they e-mailed me a bill twice (which I haven't been able to find, as it probably landed in my junk folder and got deleted) and sent me a paper invoice only 2 days prior to the phone call (which at this point, I still have not recieved, as I'm writing this the day of the call). The manager started to tell me she sent the bill personally and I told her, I wasn't questioning that… they sent a bill, I was just trying to get the point across that I hadn't recieved one and that the initial phone call to me was very unprofessional. At this point, I was quite upset and the manager had the nerve to tell me that "I had nothing to be upset about". After experiencing this irritating discourse with this company, I will NEVER do business with them again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Service after the sale is just as important as service during the sale, whether you are selling a car, a tv or medical services. I think this office has very little in the way of professioalism after the sale.

When I first started coming to this practice, they had a wonderful reputation, but within the past two years, this office has changed drastically. Patients no longer have the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Friedler himself, unless they pay an additional membership fee to become a "priority patient". Otherwise patients meet with one of the nurse practitioners for the majority of their visits. Also, this office has begun charging a $100 no-show fee and other various fees for administrative services that are rarely charged at other offices in the area (and I checked and their fees are much higher in comparison to those offices that do charge). If you want to feel like another number instead of a valued patient, then you will love this office. If you prefer to visit a practice where you are treated as an actual human being and handled with care and respect, then I'd advise you to take your business elsewhere.

Sure enough at that time he was already contemplating "a membership-based practice that provides patients with more personal attention, greater convenience...." (Please refer to his Privia Health Membership Program in Brief). If you're not able to pay him a "special discounted" Charter membership fee of $45 per month (for existing patients only) you certainly don't deserve personal attention and convenience. Now I understand why he didn't respond to my phone call and e-mail, which were even vitally important to clarify his prescription.

Dr. Friedler has been our family doctor for 7 years. He is caring and respectful, and open to listening to our concerns. He attends seminars and conferences to stay up to date on medical research and technology. He is an excellent doctor.
