Dr. Edward Julie, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Julie's for approximately 15 years. Overall, I feel that Dr. Julie is a very good and very caring cardiologist. However, with regard to his office staff members, I have personally experienced an extreme deterioration in courtesy, manners and demeanor in speaking with the patient, and efficiency, since a complete change in office personnel occurred in approximately the last 6 or 7 years. As to lacking in efficiency, i personally experienced 2 occasions in which a number I had given in case of emergency was called rather than calling my home number, causing a disturbance to a friend and an unnecessary inconvenience to me. The office member whom I addressed about this manner only stated that I had been called "several times," responding to me in a rude, discourteous and surly manner. When I was called the following day for my "rescheduled" appointment, it was patently clear that the error had not been corrected on the previous day, again disturbing the party… whom I had listed only as an EMERGENCY CONTACT.As to an example of inefficiency and, perhaps even indifference, requests for copies of medical results, in my case, had to be repeated due to a lack of receipt of same by mail. When said request was finally honored, the incorrect copy was sent to me.The drastic change in the behavior towards patients has been especially noted because of the extreme contrast that had existed approximately 7 or 8 years ago, when it was a pleasure associating with a very courteous, friendly, well-mannered and efficient staff.When the current behavior of his office staff was mentioned to Dr. Julie, he merely assumed a very "protective" attitude, generally excusing their negative behavior by stating how much stress they experience in their jobs, rather than seriously considering an investigation into this relatively serious matter which cannot help but adversely affect his patients. He concluded, after having been told of the above with, "What do you want me to do," which hardly solves this depressing problem.
