Dr Edward A Lewis

I was a widely trained registered nurse who was BRUTALLY surgically injured have breast reconstruction surgery in 2013. I moved to a new area thus to see a new doctor. Dr. Lewis has a nice staff around himself. However he is a narcissist with issues of power and control. He would not speak to me about my own care plan. He was disrespectful He is paranoid. He turns things you say into something you did not say. He was like an atomic bomb going off causing me to lose my primary care. He needs mental help. I was brutally surgically injured in 2013 and never before had anyone let me run out of pain control. But he did not care he left me with no pain control for an affliction over which I have absolutely no control. He showed ZERO compassion in 2 visits. He is self centered. I personally do not feel he is a safe doctor for people who must have pain control without interruption. He is not dependable. He is not clear in his thinking. He was sneaky about not communicating with me what his… plan would be. The only upside was his staff seemed nice. So if you can survive him and see a nurse practitioner it might work. But be aware he is a bully and will verbally spar with so be cautious when communicating with him. Good luck.

Showed up 2 hours after my appointment time, said I was a junkie. Made me feel bad about myself. Avoid the guy

Dr. Lewis treated me like a patient who had a brain, who had done some research on my condition, and talked to me about how to get to the root of the issue on my hip pain...not just throw a bunch of narcotics at me to feel better off the bat. He is an expert at navigating the insurance system and how to get things going. When my insurance refused to give me an MRI, citing the reason was I had not even had an Xray or any treatment (both wrong...I had 2 X-rays and 9 weeks of PT, and the records had been forwarded to them) he had another solution that could get me out of pain more immediately while we waited for their appeal process. He says it like it is, a straight shooter. He is a great listener, compassionate, very intelligent and knows the business side of medicine in order to get a patient treated. His goal is to get you well, not keep you dependent on drugs and that is part of the Hippocratic oath! The fluoroscopic guided injections he gave me were handled with a steady hand--he is… an expert and very precise.

When I first went to see Dr Lewis I was dying. 3 years later I'm in remission in two different diseases and bc of Dr Lewis getting my pain under control allowed this to happen. He got one of my pains under control that I was told was impossible to do. He worked with my palliative care dr on my pain meds and gave me two pain simulators. You just have to give him a chance but he will help you. He helped me. He saved me in more ways than he will ever know.

I initially met Dr. Lewis as a doctor who took me on through Worker's Compensation. He has always been honest, thorough and compassionate. My pain treatments have been difficult and he has helped comfort me and walk me through the tough spots, when I wanted to give up. My worker's comp has ended and he is continuing to help me through other channels. I am grateful that he understands what I am going through. He gives the hard truth about the Medical system in this state as compared to other states and works his best with what he has to give the best care possible. His staff is outstanding. Beacon of Light in a foggy situation. Thank you Dr. Lewis. I feel like you are a friend.

He took away my pain medication (Fenytal patch, Valium,and Oxycodone without warning . Sent me into a dark tunnel of withdrawal without any help! He is disrespectful, egotistical and rude. He called me a liar, threaten to dismiss me and blackball me. He feels senior citizens are disposible "because they wil die soon anyway". His staff refused to see me when I was 20 minutes late even though I called telling them I would be late. I am so glad to get away from him and find a doctor that has a caring attitude.

Tried to help pain without surgery. Then very proactive in getting me into a spine surgeon. Staff followed up on personal basis on every detail. Highly recommend

Dr. Lewis inserted a DGRS in Feb. 2017, allowing me to come off of my intrathecal pump and off opioids after 30 years. He has always had my best interests st heart and has done everything in his power to control/relieve my pain

Had a great pitch and at first had me convinced. Then at the pharmacy the meds he changed me to cost more than my income. He never followed threw with my insurance.and refured me to another doctor without going threw my PCP. Overall this doctor would have cost me 3 times my income if I had not figured out what was going on in time.

Dr. Lewis is the first doctor to "get real" with us, to tell us what is happening, what our options are. He spent over an hour visiting with us, and was literally the only one in a long string of pain management doctors to tell us the hard, honest, painful truth about our situation. We is patient, compassionate, and listens. Everybody else just turned us away without one explanation. Dr. Lewis is an advocate for trying to right what is so horribly wrong with pain management in our country. After literally close to half a dozen referrals, he was the ONLY one with the guts to tell us like it is...and it's not very pretty at all. EVERY pain management doctor needs to learn from him!!
