Dr. Edward S Mackey, MD

Forever thankful for this man! Growing up I knew I had back issues, but never in 109 years did I think I would be having a spinal fusion at 31 years of age. I’m almost 1 year post op and pregnant with my first baby! Had I not gotten this surgery I’m not even sure where my quality of life would be right now! He is a wonderful doctor, takes time with me, answers my questions and listens to my concerns! Honestly, wish I could add more stars for him because I’m just that grateful and blessed to have him as a provider!

Love him! I couldn’t have had a better surgeon. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

I really don’t know why other people had bad experiences but my experience was great. Yes, the wait time is about an hour long but he actually sat down and listened to every thing I said. We work on it together and when it came to my job, he handle it unlike most doctors. Every time me and my family came in, he always had a snack for my son. If you are reading this don’t be fool by these negative comments because it’s prolly someone who didn’t get their way. I had surgery May 8th. It’s a working progress but I will get there and yes, I would let him operate on me again.

Just saw Dr.Mackey for my 2 yr f/u of my 2nd lumber fusion. New xrays done. He reviewed them with me and compared them to last years xrays and showed me the difference. He took photos of my X-rays with my phone so I’d have them. I’m a retired Trauma Critical Care PACU Nurse. I’ve worked with many surgeons up in Northeast Ohio. Moving down to Tennessee and not knowing anyone leaves you to think and ask a lot of questions. I decided to go with Dr Mackey and Dr Abrams. I’ve had two lumber fusions 2015 and 2017. I’ve tolerated both well and felt great for a while but due to the degeneration in my discs it continues. Dr Mackey is great and I’m glad I decided on him. He’s watching the next level up now because it has worsened from 1 yr ago. I still have pain but I knew I would going in to it but it’s not as bad. I’m sure I’ll have another one and Dr Mackey will be my surgeon. Oh, and due to his being so well respected and having so many patients, you will have to wait in the office. But to… me that’s just a fact of life so take a deep breath and sit down and relax!

Dr. MACKEY & STAFF are always very professional and nice. Spend time explaining everything and treat me with respect. Busy office, but worth the wait! Highly recommend Dr. MACKEY.. Great Surgical Doctor.

Dr. Mackey is one of the two best medical doctors I have ever seen in my 31 years of life. He actually takes time with his patients and really listens to you, which is so hard to find these days. He’s truly very intuitive, a highly skilled orthopedist with years of experience. He understands the value of natural remedies and holistic healing. He made sure to emphasize the importance of diet, stress relief, chiropractic, and massage in the healing of my injury. He and his nurse Jessica and PA Nicole are all very attentive and responsive to a patients needs. They all take thorough, accurate notes and communicate well with one another. The office staff is also truly wonderful- kind and accommodating- and they are prompt and courteous. My only issue is the very high cost of an office visit for self-pay patients. It would be nice if it was less than $200 up front per visit, with the option to bill part later, as they bill you extra charges later anyway. That being said, I had issues with my… employers insurance- that’s why the up front cost was an issue for me. I feel they have fair prices over all and I’m so glad I chose Dr. Mackey! I’d recommend his practice to anyone. Thank you TOA for a great experience!

Dr. Edward Mackey is a wonderail surgeon. He listens to what I have to say and then expounds on his diagnosis in layman's terms I can understand. Really great doctor. My 16th year seeing him.

Dr. MACKEY gave me my life back! He did a great job on my back surgery. He has wonderful bedside manners. He was and is a wonderful M.D. and surgeon, that really cares about good pt. He has Amazing staff also.
