Dr. Edward Brian Markus, DO

Do not see this “MD” he doesn’t care nor listen to your symptoms and simply laugh when I asked for time off work since I continue to have seizures and other symptoms. This MD doesn’t deserve to work for KP for the lack of care for Members!!!!

I saw Dr. Markus for a follow-up after a sleep study in my 20s. I knew the study results, but I asked if there were other specialties that could treat my CFS. He barely let me finish my question before saying, "No, we have no one who could help you." I asked what do I do with these symptoms, where can I turn? He told me to keep drinking as much coffee as I needed, indefinitely. What a joke of a Dr. Now, in my mid 30s, after having done my own research, I have indeed found the right specialists to treat me. They do exist. Dr. Markus, I'm sorry 'she' left you. I'm sorry your mother didn't love you. Get out of the medical field.

I am horribly disappointed with this doctor. The lack of care he has for his patients is ridiculous. I was looking for a permanent neurologist being new to the area and all he wanted to do was put me on medication. He also suggested that I switch my career(as if that was something easy to do) to help with my issue. I saw him for maybe 5 minutes and he pushed me out the door without any help or follow up. It is very troubling since he is a Neurologist and his patient's issues are rather important in this department.

I was perplexed that this Dr. didn’t tell me in precise terms what was going on in my head. I was told to looked it up myself basically. That’s kinda scary since what you can read on the internet is sometimes worse case scenario.

I wasted my money to go see this "specialist" and I was in the appointment for 10 mins. Of course going into the appointment I knew that BELLS PALSY has no cure. But, this doctor straight up told me that I was stuck like this forever and there's nothing he can do about it. He didn't seem to care at all. I asked him if acupuncture and chiropractic care would help and he said no. That I was the 15% of people who don't get cured. How would he know that? FIRST OFF, I did acupuncture in the beginning and took a break because it was costing me a lot, then I went back about 6 months ago... Each time has helped. It might not be healed quickly but it's helping. I've had bells palsy for over 2 1/2 years and although its been this long... every time I go to acupuncture I see improvement. For this guy to tell me "Yeah, you can go but more than likely nothing will change" is honestly so mean and rude. There are ways to tell a patient that the disease is not curable but go ahead and try A and B and… see how it works out instead of telling me NOPE YOUR DONE HEALING. I went home crying because I felt like this is just something I need to accept. THIS WAS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS. I WILL GET MY MONEY BACK!

Quite possibly the worst doctor I have ever experienced. I'm not sure how he remains a practicing physician. His compassion for his patients is non-existent.

Arrogant man. Obviously did not want to listen to the rest of my history once he came up with a "solution" based on the first few things I mentioned. The solution would not work (and if he actually listened, he'd understand) because a previous doctor tried the same medication, which failed due to the way my body reacted to it. He still disregarded that information and insisted it would work, all while insisting that my previous doctor (who I did not mention is working at Stanford) did not know what he was doing.

I love this doc! He is the second neuro my husband has seen and he is awesome! He is caring, personable, explains what he is thinking, up-front with you, spends a lot of time with you, and is proactive. I have no doubt that he is dedicated to helping his patients in any/every way.
