Dr. Edward Cholsang Mun, MD

In 2001 was 595 lbs on deaths bed basically. met Dr. Mun and had the surgery. Today, 18 years later and still 375 lbs lighter...went back to school for a Master's degree went into teaching, met my wife, had to great kids and all of it happened because of this amazing doctor.

I am most fortunate that Dr. Mun was willing to save my life with a surgery when others declined as being too “high risk”...as a result of being crushed in an auto accident... I was losing 1 lb/da .wasting away...day after day, no food would stay “down”due to scar tissue blockage of digestive organs. Before Dr. Mun accepted my challenge, I felt like I was a prisoner in a cage without bars. His visits with me were never rushed, always taking ample time to both explain details and answer all questions. Outstandingly comforting! He was a “friend”, without losing his professionalism. While in hospital he made multiple daily visits. While very definitely an exceptionally gifted surgeon, yet also warm, genuine, and exceptionally caring for his patients...and patient’s family. So very lucky me!

Dr. Mun performed gastric bypass on me 12 years ago...when I was 595 lbs with an 88 inch waist. I was totally invalid on disability. Thanks to Dr. Mun, I lost 350 lbs within 18 months...went back to school and received two Masters degrees and have been teaching for 9 years. Got married and I am expecting a son this Spring. He was excellent with the surgery and follow up. Boston's loss is definitely California's gain!!!

Dr. Mun is a great doctor. He is warm and friendly and genuinely concerned with his patients' health. He did my band to sleeve revision and I am so happy with the results. The nurses and staff adore him as well.

Doctor Mun did my gastro and I lost 124 pds and I obtain my goal in 15 months.. He is one of the best in the United states. I love my new look and I have a lot of energy.. My life has change for the better.. Thank you Dr. Mun

I have worked with Dr. Mun, and always had said if I needed bariatric surgery, it would be him that would operate on me. He's extremely good at what he does. Sure enough time came for me to have surgery and I opted to have Dr Mun as my doctor. He's amazing, and I have no regrets.

Dr. Mun performed my Gastric Bypass in 2001. He saved my life in 2002 when he operated on me for an intestinal blockage. He is the most caring physician I have ever had the honor of meeting. His personal attention to my wife, both before, during and right after my surgeries eased her worries greatly. He is a wonderful physician and an outstanding person.
