Recently moved to Bakersfield from Modesto. Both of us have a number of serious health issues and it is important to get into a primary care doctor ASAP. Dr Nichols was listed in both of our insurance carriers Provider Directory. When I called, I was VERY SPECIFIC AND DETAILED about our insurance. When we arrived we learned that they don't in fact take my husband's insurance. So, are they stupid, don't listen, confused, or lie? They were fine to see me - but if they are already showing that their knowledge is EXTREMELY limited, how can I trust ANYTHING that anyone in their office says?

I love doctor dr. Nicols. I have taken both of my children to him for years. He is kind, understanding and professional. I find his staff cold and his appointment making process nearly unbearable...but I tolerate those small problems for his superior care!

Bottom line...If you have a choice, don't choose Dr. Nichols. My overall health is fair. However, I do have a medical condition which requires a monthly visit to my primary physician who was Dr. Nichols for about 2 years. Aside from the hassle of finding & then establishing with a new primary and Trevor (the wonderful PA)are the only reasons that I stayed that long. Dr. Nichols entire demeanor is extremely unprofessional. The office is VERY unorganized as well as untidy. About 97% of the staff are unprofessional, rude, & uncaring. Maybe all in credit to the Dr. himself. I would discourage you to choose this practice.

This doctor has an attitude that he is better than you are. His bedside manner is horrible and I haven't seen anything in his practice that would lead me to believe his services are worth the attitude.

Love the doctor and his PA's. However the staff can make things rough to deal with.

Dr Nichols was totoally unsatisfactory as a physician and lacked professional courtesty. Made false assumptions.etc

The care received from Dr. Nichols and his staff was substandard. In our opinion, we were lucky the office mixups and incompetency of him and his staff did not cost one of our family members their life. With all the doctors out there I would choose another.
