Dr. Edward I Winokur, MD

Excellent Doctor good listener and really help me with my ADHD as well as a good role model by keeping his own weight in control.

Please read my story if you’re considering seeing Dr. Ed Winokur. My rating is O because he misdiagnosed my husband to cause his death at age 61. My husband and I were avid road cyclists. Yearly we rode our bikes for 3,000 miles in New England, at times 100 miles in a day. Three years before his death, he went to Dr. Winokur complaining of less energy and hard to breathe especially while riding his bike. For almost 2 years Dr. Winokur kept saying ‘ you’re just getting old.’ After I asked my husband to get a second opinion he was uncomfortable because he trusted doctors. Six months before my husband’s death he did get a second opinion and a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. My husband never smoked and lung cancer was not in his family. We were shocked because we didn’t know he had lung cancer symptoms as I stated above. My husband’s hospice nurses asked if I wanted to pursue legal action. I said no and please make sure he can’t practice medicine anywhere and make him leave… Connecticut. They assured me they will. I can’t believe Dr. Winokur is practicing in Florida even though he moved out of Connecticut. Thank you for reading my story because I don’t want anyone else to suffer like my husband, myself and our family.

We know Dr. Winokur from Clinton, Ct. He was our doctor for years and is great, very caring.

On my annual checkup he just recommended to do a mamograme, meanwhile i had a lot of issues. It was imposible to get on time the referal. Never responds to your mesages, My mamograme had some problems, however he never contacted me to let me know. Very bad experience.

From our first visit Dr. Winokur was thorough, engaged, truly interested in our needs, and made us feel as if he'd been our family doctor for years. His assistants are professional yet friendly and seem able and competent. Although scheduling is typically three to four weeks out, Erika, his receptionist, has always been able to move our appointments up and in the one case we had an emergency got us in on the same day! Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Winokur and next time I'm going to ask if he makes housecalls -- hey, couldn't hurt to ask!

Both my husband and myself use Dr. Winokur and he is excellent. His staff is attentive. We have had a difficult time finding good medical care within our insurance plan and hope he continues to stay with the provider. Everyone I have referred to Dr. Winokur feels the same.

That’s very personable doctor. Excellent bedside manner. Very knowledgeable and easy to understand. I would recommend him to anyone.
