Dr. Edward Youssef Zamrini

After much research online, we created a plan so that Dr. Zamrini was in our insurance network. Most specialists make you wait months to have your first visit, but we needed an accurate diagnosis for my husband's behavioral issues as soon as possible. If you don't have an accurate diagnosis, a PCP may prescribe medications that are contraindicated. Not all degenerative brain diseases are Alzheimer's. I knew my husband was one of those. It was not Alzheimer's. Dr. Zamrini followed a logical course of testing for treatable issues first, ruling each one out as we went along. He was very compassionate, read all of my caregiver personal notes about my husband's history and changes between visits and testing with him. I knew from research online which tests would be coming next and why. He was so thorough and followed the exact course we felt he should. Our final diagnosis was explained thoroughly, with confidence and compassion. He spoke with me separately and then brought in my husband to… show him the PET Scans and to explain what was happening in each region of his brain. We were relieved to have a name for the years of changes and concerns we had been experiencing. My husband had bvFTD (Frontotemporal Degeneration). Some people go round and round not having an official diagnosis for years. After we reached out to Dr. Edward Zamrini, it only took 4 months. My husband is in the late stages now but still on the appropriate and helpful medication initiated by Dr. Zamrini. We are grateful for his knowledge, expertise, caring manner, and thoroughness. Dr. Zamrini only looks at one measurement to make evaluations. He does not look outside of the clinical setting and take into consideration things that are occurring in the patients daily life. For example, is the cognitively impaired patient able to handle their own finances, continue social activities, remember how to participate in activities or hobbies that they have always enjoyed. Dr. Zamrini does not consider observations and concerns reported to him by caregivers and family members. If the same concern does not manifest itself in the clinical setting, then it is dismissed by Dr. Zamrini.Dr. Zamrini does not have good follow up with patients.
