Dr. Efstathia Tzatha, MD

My oncologist referred me to Dr. Tzatha for CIPN (chemo-induced peripheral neuropathy), and I've been seeing her for 6 months. Even if I wasn't a patient, our appointments would be fascinating, because she clearly explains the science about how the nervous system works, she debunks misconceptions, and offers parameters to set expectations about how my case may play out. This may come across as cool/clinical, but I appreciate having all the facts. She can be quite humorous, and is one of my most patient MSK doctors, taking time to answer all questions, evaluating me and my habits thoroughly, and looking at wholistic treatment, such as the physical therapy and functional modifications at home I need to operate safely. Her chief nurse practitioner, Alex, is also very thorough, with a contagious sunny disposition. I also appreciate how pragmatic/flexible she is. When I need monthly Vitamin B12 injections, she books them at the lab location closest to my other MSK appointments. This… can lead to quizzical looks for a female walking into the prostate cancer center, but it's so thoughtful of her to save me time and unnecessary walking. Biggest downside of her office is that wait times can be long, but not quite as long as for oncologists in the breast center.

She’s probably better served for dealing with crack heads and not cancer patients. Terrible bedside manner!!!

Dr. Tzatha is excellent. She is highly knowledgeable and spends the time necessary to diagnose my problems and develop a practical plan to get better. I highly recommend her.

She sucks!
