After spending 3 days in the ICU at university of maryland hospital with every test known to man done, we were sent home and told our 4yo would never have a seizure again. Following up with the pediatrician, we were told the same thing again. We were not convinced since our 4yo seized for over 40mins until the ER Dr stopped it, was unconscious and choked on her vomit. Dr Vining took 2 months to get an appt with but was well worth it. She took one look at University of Maryland's EEG and saw what they had missed. Turns out our daughter has childhood epilepsy of the occipital lobe. She seizes in her sleep and she requires rescue medication since the seizures are so prolonged. Thank you Dr Vining for listening and helping us when no one else would. Personally, I loved the copy I got of her report to the pediatrician who blew us off. She shows annoyance for the people in the medical profession that do not take the time to do their job correctly.

Once diagnosed, Dr. Vining referred my son to the primary care pediatrician to treat and monitor his epilepsy diagnosis. At a follow-up visit, Dr. Vining verbally expressed extreme annoyance over the time-gaps in information and complained that the information provided by the pediatrician was not consistent the information from the parents.
