Eilon Ram, MD

Dr. Eilon Ram is a cardiac surgeon in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Attending Cardiothoracic Surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.Dr. Ram earned his medical degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, and completed both his residency and fellowship in cardiac surgery at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv, Israel. He further specialized in cardiothoracic surgery through a fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine, with advanced training focused on aortic surgery. This training has equipped Dr. Ram with the expertise to manage complex cardiac cases, particularly those involving the aorta.In addition to his specialization in aortic surgery, Dr. Ram has a broad range of expertise across various aspects of cardiac surgery. His experience includes coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), aortic, mitral and tricuspid valve repair and replacement, surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation (MAZE), cardiac tumor resections, …and the management of aortic aneurysms and dissections. He is also skilled in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, offering patients advanced surgical options with reduced recovery times.Dr. Ram is deeply committed to patient care and medical education. He has played a significant role in training the next generation of cardiothoracic surgeons, mentoring medical students and residents. His extensive research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at numerous regional, national, and international conferences.Dr. Ram is married to Shahar, and together they have three children: Nafti, Yuli, and Dori.
