Dr. Ekkehard Bonatz, MD

Reflecting on many wonderful people whom I was blessed to meet in 2025, I must say Dr. Ekkehard Bonatz, MD, is whom I am most thankful for. His expertise, skillful hands and determined abilities repaired my wrist, elbow and bicep. Dr. Bonatz coaches patients to put forth their best effort to recover after using his best effort to make repairs. First, he fixed chronic issues, and later when I tore my bicep, he rushed me to his office and scheduled timely surgery. He gave me the best chance to recover. Thank you to Dr. Bonatz, and your supporting team that were all so very good at patient care.

Great experience...arrived with bags packed for a hospital stay. Dr Bonatz had another idea and so far the therapy seems to be working!

Dr. Bonatz has been on to my healing process since the beginning. Shows he cares about his patients.

Great reminders; short waiting room stay; good communication between staff; Straight to the point with information needed to make decisions for present situation.

Dr. Bonazt office staff deserves a 5 however, unfortunately the doctor’s lack of interest in my interest concerns me. After Occupational Therapy and receiving the same information for OT left me confuse with what I would consider his final prognosis. He violated my rights as a patient I ask could he close the door while he discussed my condition he said no because of COVID-19 everyone else prior to were able to and I sat in the closed room until he came in. Asking me twice what my job was and determined with a weak hand not able to hold 13lbs nor 100% and didn’t need surgery there was nothing he could do also concluded that was the best my hand would get. I feel as though he didn’t look at the report’s from the OT. I ask for copies he refused and told me that workman's comp would have to request them. His sarcastic remarks and tone were belittling. To add insult to injury while walking out with his back turn saying if you break anything else come see me. I made it clear No that will… not happen. If I return to work and cause further injury responsibility lies on him.

I had a great experience in using this physician. I had several issues. He explained my options and provided all the information I needed. I am now recovering from the surgery and appreciate having such an excellent physician.

I am going to keep this brief and am only writing this review in hopes that it saves anyone that talks to this ortho about surgery or any ortho matter. Rude, cuts you short and does not follow up with you once you have had the surgery. My surgery was a complete failure. My hand was better before he did the surgery. I am 4 months post surgery and still wearing a hand brace due to pain EVERYDAY.

DO NOT let this man operate on you! He rushes patients through surgery, and doesn’t communicate well enough. He has a HORRIBLE bedside manner. Hopefully I can get another surgeon to fix this botched mess!
