Dr. Elena Mara Kamel, MD

Dr. Kamel is invested in women who are invested in helping themselves. An excellent physician who's insight has made me look at myself and my health choices.

Her demeanor is odd. She spent some time during the exam talking about how she maintains her size 6 figure, and that she gives Botox on the side. I was there for an annual exam. Then she did an ultrasound, said she saw a small polyp, and proceeded with a biopsy of it. The receptionist called me with the biopsy result of an all-clear (does an untrained receptionist calling me violate HIPAA privacy rules?). A month later Dr Kamel told me I needed a D&C even with the all-clear and even though I have no bleeding or any other issues. When I asked questions about this, she became angry and said she’d drop me as a patient if I didn’t let her do the D&C. I said I am fine with not being her patient, and she hung up.

Dr. Kamel is a kind and brilliant physician.

The nurse asked lots of not related questions, after left undressed for 1+ hour to wait for a dr. Kamel. This is so disrespectful to the patients! Doctor spent only 10 min. with me. Never ever again!!!

Referred to Dr kamel by a friend. Waited almost 2 hours in a freezing exam room. When she finally made her entrance she asked how I was doing. I said that I was freezing and that I had been waiting for a very long time. She asked if I wanted a heater and I said no because I had already been there for so long that I just wanted to get to the exam.She apparently was offended by my response. She said that she spends a lot of time with her patients and that she wasn’t running late because she was off eating lunch or picking her nose. I was taken aback by her response and said that I wasn’t feeling very comfortable about this appointment. She said that I should leave. At that point, I agreed. She doesn’t know how to manage her time or be respectful that her patients have more to do than spend all day waiting around for her. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I would never recommend her under any circumstances.

Besides always waiting over an hour to be seen, her only solution for any type of problem I had was to lose weight. Ended up switching Doctors and found out I actually have PCOS. I am disappointed to say the least. I've had this issue for two years now and I could have had this solved a long time ago.

In spite of bad time management, she still remains the BEST for me. Have changed 3 gynecologists until I met her!!!! Listens carefully, understands the feelings of the patient, calls back whenever I call her. ANd I had my baby with her after a miscarriage with another doctor... She made me beleive in good doctors :))

Practice is large so I expect to wait...shopping is nearby and staff calls my cellphone when I am the next patient to be seen!Due to the fact that she's an excellent physician, I have no problem with this arrangement...

I have been bleeding for 9 months and no one could figure it out. Dr Kamel looked inside my uterus and found a fibroid and removed it. My periods are light and easy. She saved my life! So glad my friends recommended her. Great nurses and office staff.

Dr. Kamel knows what she's doing...that is with the exception of time management. She has been running more than one hour behind schedule on EVERY one of my appointments. (Four, so far.)Why she and her staff can't lighten her daily schedule--even by one or two patients-is absolutely unfathomable. Personally, I find it insulting that I have to set aside so much of my day to accommodate her schedule.Did I mention that she's smart? Is that enough for you?
