Dr. Eliezer Akri, DO

I arrived by ambulance unconscious. Dr. Akri was able, unlike the first person treating me, to diagnosis the issue and order immediate transfusion of 2 units of blood in the ER on an emergent basis. The hospitalist later told me I was within one hour of death from internal bleeding. I went home in 6 days and was completely recovered in less than a month.

Took his time and evaluated my sick child Made him laugh and gave him a stuffed animal as a gift Answered all my questions in detail Even had hospital help with paying for my child's medicine since I was going through a rough time. Made our day better and I recommend him and North Florida regional medical center

My mother was recently "treated" by Dr. Akri in an ER setting and I was appalled by his rudeness and treatment of her and my father. He wanted to send her to Shands and wash his hands of her, I could not believe how uncaring and nasty he was speaking to my parents. I had to invoke the EMTALA law and insist that he admit my mother who was gravely ill. Thankfully we were able to find a different ER doctor. This man should not be allowed around people. A disgrace to the hospital.
