Dr. Elisa H. Rose, MD

I used Dr. Rose as my primary care physician from 2014 - 2019. She ignored and dismissed a result in my annual blood work that pointed to a genetic bone condition that I have. I repeatedly asked her about it and she ignored it - for years! Even after I suffered repercussions from it in the form of bone breaks and brought it up my blood work again, she dismissed it. I finally found a doctor who would pay attention and do a tiny bit of quick research. She also dismissed my early perimenopause symptoms, leaving me struggling with them on my own. Telling me to exercise and change my diet. Maybe NYU overworks people until they just don't care and they aren't willing to make any extra effort for patients. Idk. But I truly regret that my care was in her hands for so long and my issues were dismissed for so long.

I have been seeing this doctor for five or so years for annual physicals and never experienced any medical conditions outside of that where her "expertise" could be helpful. So about a month ago i started having this cramping pain and bloating that was getting progressively worse. I reached out to her office to schedule a visit. I assumed that since i am a patient of hers it is her responsibility to try and accommodate me in this situation. Straight off the bet they tell me she is booked for a few months. I was like, well i am having this pain i do not have 2 months can she squeeze me in even for a few minutes. They were so unaccommodating it was crazy. The pain got progressively worse and worse, i kept calling the office and getting the same middle finger. all they ever said, if it is an emergency go to ER! Well, it was not en emergency straight away and all could have been avoided easily if she just bothered to at least get me to do some tests. So i decided to wright to the doctor.… she never even got back to me at all! So one day, i call the front desk and pretty much have a break down on the phone. And what do you know, she calls me! But not because she cares at all, because there is a protocol to follow and i assume she could not get out of it. She just goes through the motions, asks what's up and says just go to ER. I tell her, i just went to urgent care can i at least send you the results that you can look at? Her response - IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT!!! are you kidding! i am in pain for over 2 weeks and that's all you got? i was crushed honestly by her complete lack of care. She obviously did not offer to see me or even make an effort. There was no follow up nothing! I did end up in ER with a ruptured appendix with some complications because it was leaking for so long. I am shocked and angry and want to let anyone considering this failure of a human being as a doctor to STAY THE F AWAY and find a doctor who will be there for you not just for an annual physician because they can milk your insurance and it's easy but when you really need them.

Dr. Rose is very friendly and nice. But I wouldn't recommend her to be anyone's Primary Care physician. She has so many patients, she doesn't remember your personal details. I've been seeing her for more than ten years, but I always get the feeling that each time it's all new again. By way of comparison, another doctor of mine (a specialist who does not take insurance) provides true individualized care -- rendering medical advice, calling me on the phone to discuss test results, etc. Dr. Rose and NYU Langone Trinity is more of a patient mill -- lots of computer note-taking and checklists -- but not much more.

Thorough, smart, and compassionate. We need more humane, conscientious doctors like Dr. Rose

I've seen Dr. Rose three times. She hasn't followed up with me at all. The last time I wanted to see her, I was told that she didn't have any openings for two and a half weeks, so I saw one of her colleagues. The first time I saw her, she spent a lot of time with me. The second time, she was rushed. The third time was somewhere in between.

Refused to give me antibiotics for " a cold" and 4 days after seeing her I was diagnosed with bronchitis as a result of a chest X-ray ordered by another MD. I was started on a 14 day course of antibiotics. Dr. Rose needs to listen to her patient's symptoms instead of rushing to get to her next patient. She can be rude and curt.

Intelligent, experienced, compassionate. An excellent doctor.

Dr Rose,You are a gem. Thanks for seeing me even though I was so late, and for following up with me quickly. Thanks for answering all my questions and taking the time to return phone calls and faxing the forms I requested.

The office staff are very nice, which is always a plus. I was not kept waiting.Dr. Rose spent a lot of time with me, asked me a lot of questions about my health problems, got a detailed history, and was in touch with me to discuss the results of the tests she had done very quickly. Terrific doctor, highly recommend.
