Dr. Elita Nichelle Wyckoff, MD

I recently had my first visit with Dr. Wyckoff and I cannot recommend her enough! From the moment I walked into the office, I was met with warmth and professionalism. The staff was kind and efficient, making the entire experience seamless. Dr. Wyckoff took the time to listen to my concerns and questions concerning menopause, explained everything thoroughly, and ensured I felt comfortable and informed. Her bedside manner is outstanding—compassionate, patient, humorous, and incredibly knowledgeable. It was clear that she genuinely cares about her patients and prioritize both physical and emotional well-being. After searching high and low, I’m grateful to have found Dr. Wyckoff. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for top-notch care!

Dr. Wyckoff is an outstanding physician who is proactive, comforting, a great listener, and very thorough. I am very glad to be under her watchful and reassuring care!

I hate to have to write a negative review, but I feel that I have to so that other people do not go through the experience that I have. This is the worst doctor that I've ever worked with. I found out that I had PCOS because she called in a prescription to the pharmacist and the pharmacist had to explain to me that I had a life-changing disease. I called every day for six days to get her a call back to find out more about this. I got a call back from an untrasound technician 15 days after my appointment asking if I understood my ultrasound. Not to mention that I was put on a fertility treatment that did not work. I was going to give her one last shot before switching doctors. I have called twice a day for the past 5 days and have not gotten a call back. I literally only need to know if I need to make a follow-up appointment or schedule an appointment with a specialist. Something that could even be communicated through my portal without even calling me back but no one will return my… phone call.

As a patient for annuals and pap smears, I did not mind Dr. Wyckoff's abrasive attitude at first because I was in and out of the office (once she finally entered) fairly quickly. She never seemed to care about any issues or questions I was having. I decided to switch from birth control pills to getting an IUD. She instructed me to just take 2 ibuprofen before the visit and that was it. I was totally unprepared for how painful the IUD insertion was going to be. She paused during the procedure because I was in pain, and literally rolled her eyes. After she continued, she was very slow and it continued to hurt. I teared up due to the pain, and after it was done, I started crying because I was overwhelmed by how rude and how little she seemed to care. She left without saying anything. I had to collect myself for a moment, but then went to the front desk to schedule a follow up appointment. I told them that I would not like to have a follow up with Dr. Wyckoff, but was open to seeing a… different doctor at the practice. I made an appointment with a different doctor and was astounded at how personable and kind he was (Dr. Wyckoff was my first gynecologist). I ended up switching out the IUD because I wanted a different one that was smaller and would last longer. Dr. Rodrigo was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. And he also implanted the IUD correctly (Dr. Wyckoff cut the strings too short) and paid attention to any discomfort (which was very minimal).

For many of the reasons stated by others, I do not recommend Dr. Wyckoff. I was having bleeding for many months and she seemed unconcerned about the situation and didn't seem to remember me from appointment to appointment. No sense of urgency or concern. I found a new doctor who immediately ran some tests and I was scheduled for surgery quickly and the issue was resolved. My new doctor showed the concern and urgency for me even as a brand new patient that I never received from Dr. Wyckoff as a long term patient. Horrible

I had irregular period already 8 months after the molar preg. And I have had one week low fever with extra big cercix and lots of mucus during ovulation which has lasted for 16 days. I googled and found these symptoms are typical of high level estrogen. I went to see Dr Wyckoff this mornings and told her about these. She said she had never heard about high level estrogen. She just do a simple Virginal exam and said you are normal. I was not normal at all, because I have had low fever with muscle pain and burning uterus for a few days. She did not do any labs and just said everything is normal. Very unprofessional and very poor bed manners.

I rarely leave reviews, but I want to warn other women and expectant mothers regarding my terrible experience with Dr Wyckoff. A little background: my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 3 years. We went through IVF and were able to conceive twice. My first pregnancy ended in an early miscarriage at 7 weeks. My second pregnancy was going well and I eventually transferred to Dr Wyckoff’s clinic. Late in my first trimester I experienced bleeding. I was nervous I was experiencing a second miscarriage, so I went in to the clinic to have them take a look. After the ultrasound, I sat waiting in the exam room for the Dr for about 30 min. I could hear her outside the exam room talking about her weekend plans with other colleagues and with seemingly no urgency to get to her patient. When she eventually came into the room she told me the cause was a sub-chorionic hematoma, but never spoke about what we would do to monitor it or the causes for it. She was also very cold and short… with her responses to my questions. Stating at one point unsympathetically that, “it will either go away or end in miscarriage”. She was very patronizing when speaking to me and seemed annoyed as I asked her questions. She knew our history of previous loss and fertility struggles and failed to acknowledge my concerns or provide more information. At 27 weeks, I noticed my son had stopped moving and I went to a nearby hospital. We were devastated to find out that our son had no heartbeat and had passed away. The hospital told us our clinic would call us that day and schedule an appointment for us to come in the very next day. When I received no phone call that day I called the emergency line at 9:30 pm. The Dr on call was Dr Wyckoff. When she answered I told her our situation, to which she responded “I already know, the hospital call me at 5:30pm”. So your telling me the hospital called you 4 hours ago to tell you my son died and you didn’t call me?!?. The entire conversation she was cold and had NOT ONCE offered her condolences. She just referred to our “fetal demise” and said I needed to call the clinic the next day to schedule to be induced. I have NEVER had such a terrible experience with a doctor before. She does NOT care about her patients. It is one thing if she lacks empathy, but still provides thorough medical attention and addresses her patient’s medical questions, but she doesn’t even do that! There are several other wonderful doctors at Cary OBGYN, but she is NOT one of them. The disregard for her patients makes me question why she ever wanted to become a medical doctor….clearly it is not because she cares about the health and well being of her patients.
