Dr. Eliza DeFroda is one of the most compassionate, collaborative, and clinically thoughtful physicians I have ever met. I came to her after years of complex urologic issues and several experiences that left me with significant distrust of the healthcare system. Instead of dismissing those experiences, she took the time to understand my history and has consistently treated me as an individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Throughout my care, she has listened carefully, welcomed questions, explained her reasoning, and involved me in shared decision-making. Even when my case became more complicated—including urinary retention requiring a suprapubic catheter—she never made me feel like I was "too much" or that my concerns were an inconvenience. One appointment in particular solidified my trust in her. I had spent an entire week terrified that future catheter exchanges would have to be performed awake despite my extensive history of procedural trauma. When Dr.… DeFroda walked into the room, one of the very first things she said was that we would absolutely perform my catheter changes under sedation. She even reassured me by saying she would not put me through a procedure she knew I couldn't tolerate. In that moment, I finally felt heard. That interaction demonstrated exactly what makes Dr. DeFroda exceptional. She doesn't simply follow protocols—she evaluates the patient sitting in front of her and develops a plan that is both medically appropriate and individualized. She balances evidence-based medicine with genuine compassion and recognizes that quality of life is an essential part of good medical care. She has never made me feel rushed, judged, or dismissed. Instead, she has consistently treated me with kindness, respect, and empathy while remaining honest about the realities of my condition. She has also shown a willingness to adapt care when appropriate, which is something every patient hopes to find in a physician. After difficult experiences elsewhere, Dr. DeFroda has restored my trust not only in urology, but in what patient-centered medicine should look like. I recommend her without hesitation to anyone seeking a physician who truly listens, values informed decision-making, and genuinely partners with her patients. She is an outstanding physician and an incredible advocate for her patients.

Dr. DeFroda did not listen to me at my appointment. I told her I had blood in my urine. She said it was vaginal. I told her that was not possible as I had a hysterectomy, but she just shrugged and moved on. I then ended up hospitalized for a severe UTI. I do like the medical students I have seen at the clinic.

Waited 2 weeks for first appt. was called a few days before appt and told dr needed to push my appt time back 1 hour due to assisting in surgery. I specifically asked if there was a chance my appt could b3 cancelled due to this and was emphatically told “no no no”. the office knew I lived 65 miles away. I Checked in early on day of appt. Was made to pay IN ADVANCE. Then was notified that dr was running late assisting in a surgery and was told I had to reschedule. Was offered 2 weeks to 1 month away for a rescheduled appt. good luck to you if you use her and her staff. I won’t be
