Dr. Eliza Schwartz Meade, MD

TLDR: she missed multiple blood clots, I almost died, then she blamed me. Brutal experience with this physician as she discharged me after giving birth with multiple pulmonary emboli (resulting in a code blue readmit at 70% oxygen and in heart failure). She then came to my bedside during the readmit and tried to blame me for "not speaking up" to the nurses when being discharged. I actually had and told them my lung pain was worse but they told me my husband would help me with walking to the car. On readmit the ED attending shouted expletives as he was so infuriated I had been sent home in that state. My hematologist told me after the fact that he wasn't used to seeing people alive who had CT scans that looked like mine.

Horrible and dismissive during my labor. Was told to come back to the hospital when I was in so much pain I couldn’t speak. Told me I wasn’t leaking amniotic fluid, got a second opinion and it turns out, I was. Was induced immediately by a different doctor.

Dr. Meade is a an amazing OBGYN. The best I've ever encountered. She genuinely cares about her patient and is extremely knowledgeable. I'm so glad I found her.

After a few traumatic experiences, I am terrified of the gynecologist. Dr. Meade took the time to ask me many questions, address my concerns and explain new information. She was incredibly kind and compassionate. She performed the gentlest and slowest pelvic exam I have ever experienced. I did not realize I could receive this level of care at the doctors office.
