Dr. Elizabeth Dacus

I think Dr. Dacus is a good doctor, I only visited once, but will not return. She was recommended by my retiring physician. One of my (what should have been simple) bill became a nightmare. Not worth the headache.

Literally the worst doctor I've ever had contact with. I've never had more than a 3 minute appointment with her. She doesn't listen to any concerns. She's awful.

In my daughters ins plan were 4 on/gyn’s she had met 3, this one was the only one she hadn’t met and of course this is who she got to deliver her baby. She explained nothing she was doing to my daughter & son in law. Never looked up to check on my daughter as she was stiching her up. The nurse was on pins and needles because the Dr had already snapped on her several times. It turns out the epidural had lost effect and my daughter felt every bit of being stitched. Being her first child she, although shaking in pain thought this was normal. It was a horrific experience that I would wish on no one

I have to say that I really enjoyed Dr. Dacus during my initial visit. She gave me a listening ear and was quite attentive. During next visit and my pregnancy she was not the same Dr. She would rush out of exam room and I would spend more time with nurses and assistants. Her nursing staff would not even crack a smile with you or even say hello. I had so many questions during my pregnancy worried about premature labor and they went unanswered. I left her practice and of course had a premature baby. Her bedside manner is not the same, maybe she has a few favorites but Dr. Dacus and Seasons OBGYN is not worth the visit.

Painful!

The staff at the office are great and I liked this doctor for visits, she was very friendly but when I had my baby it was a different story. The nurses at the hospital had a hard time getting her to come to my room, where I was in labor ready at 9. Baby was out to shoulders and she didnt even turn around to deliver the baby, My family felt like they were going to have to catch the baby. She never came in to check on me in delivery for the 13 hours I was there and did not check on me after I had the baby, until the next day. I Just wish she would have been a little more involved on my special day.

I'm surprised to be reading such bad reviews only after having Dr. Dacus deliver my first child. My pregnancy had been smooth sailing until 38 weeks, at which point I started heading towards pre-eclampsia. One OB at Seasons had decided to just send me home on bedrest, ignoring the fact that my usually normal blood pressure had gone up, along with other symptoms. Dr. Dacus, however, quickly responded to the changes in my pregnancy and decided to induce me rather than wait for the situation to become life-threatening (which happens extremely quickly with pre-eclampsia), and I'm grateful for that. She gave me the chance for a natural delivery (36 hours of pitocin, 12 of cervidil -- all to no avail), after which she recommended a c-section, but still left the decision up to me as to whether or not I wanted to keep trying. I decided on a c-section, and before the surgery, she sat in the room with my family explaining the procedure and answering any questions, not in any way trying to rush… us or ignore our concerns. My c-section went smoothly and was very neat; I now have a healthy baby girl. At my follow-up appointment Dr. Dacus was very attentive and understanding; I was experiencing feelings associated with post-partem depression and she helped me feel less crazy and didn't just blow off my feelings, as I feel some other doctors would have done. I think she is extremely intelligent, kind, compassionate, honest, and professional, and I would recommend her to anyone.

I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. She does not go over precautions or procedures with you and does not elaborate when answering questions or concerns you may have. I had to have a LEEP procedure done and she cut me during the procedure and I had to have emergency surgery. It was the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced and when she gave me the shot to numb me, she did not even give it time to set it. She immediately began the procedure which is painful even when you are numb. I switched doctors after the surgery and did not go to my followup appointment she had scheduled for me and she nor the doctors office even contacted me to see if everything was ok. Worst gyno EVER! Do yourself a favor and find another, there are plenty in the Charleston area.

I had a few visits with her and was thankful she did not attend my delivery. She is very bossy and doesn't want to discuss anything. She told me that natural birth was impossible and I was an idiot for trying, which I did end up with a successful drug free delivery. Between her and Dr Day, women should avoid Season OB.At my friend's delivery with her, it was her 4th child and she knew that it was easier for her to deliver squating. Dr Dacus said this is my job and you will do what I tell you. When she said no, Dacus walked out and my friend's daughter was nearly delivered on the floor because she wouldn't believe that my she was crowning.

I have seen Dr. Dacus on numerous occasions throughout my pregnancy along with the other OB's through Seasons. On one of my initial visits, it was pretty quick with her in and out, but it didn't really bother me considering it was my 4th baby and one of my usual appts so I was happy to be in and out quickly. She ultimately delivered my baby and I was very happy with her care. She reacted quickly when I was sent to the hospital where she was on call after a routine weekly visit and she made the decision after my being monitored to induce my pregnancy at 38 weeks because of low amniotic fluid levels and baby distress issues. I found her to be professional, kind, caring and sincere in the care she provided and delivered my baby safely and at delivery, it was evident that her quick decision making to deliver my son at that time was accurate considering he had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck so many times that waiting around another week for my scheduled induction could have… ended terribly. I highly recommend Dr. Dacus. She followed up in my room during my postpartum stay daily and was attentive to my care.
