Dr. Elizabeth Sanchez Fowler, MD

If I did not have to leave a star, I would not have. This happened in 2007 and I have left previous reviews and they seem to keep disappearing. I brought my daughter in to see Dr Singh. She was not there and Fowler came in (filling in for her). She started looking at daughter's chart and noticed how small she was. She asked if I breastfed her exclusively and I told her I did until we started feeding her baby food and other food but she still is breastfeeding. She is 14 months old at this time and wearing 9-12 month clothes. She is tiny but was eating well and exceeding in all other milestones. She started saying something was wrong and she should not be that tiny. EVERY time I tried to explain my husband's size (5'3") and his whole family was on small side, she would cut me off and I could never get more than 3 words out (my husband is...). She kept saying something was seriously wrong and when I over and over again tried to explain husband's size and family, she cut me off and pointed… at her and said "she is malnutritioned and if you don't get her looked at by specialist and tested I am going to call CPS on you!" I left there balling my eyes out and actually questioning my mothering skills and doubted everything I was doing. We took her to Texas Children's and after 3 doctors and the head of the Pediatrics saying nothing is wrong with her, they could look at her and tell by her eyes, hair, skin, nails and belly. They asked questions and of course my husband was there and they actually listened to my answers and family history. I explained what happened and begged for them to take whatever test she demanded or she would call CPS on me. They all looked at me, at my daughter and then at each other. They left the room and came back deciding to take every test she requested and much more so as not to leave any doubt. They wanted her there for a week but after a day and 1/2 of recording what she ate, what she did throughout day, how active she is and lots of tests (blood, cognitive, x-rays), they said nothing is wrong. I requested - called in (numerous times) and even went to the doctor offices (3 times) - to get an in person meeting with Dr Singh and Fowler to go over the stacks of test records and NO ONE EVER RETURNED MY CALL OR CONTACTED ME IN ANY WAY! I was disgusted and horrified that this lady was actually seeing kids and making recommendations on the well-being of children. I was disgusted with Singh for allowing this to happen and having this lady within her practice and then not bother to acknowledge me with a return call. Obviously I changed doctors and never took my kids back. So NO, I DO NOT and WOULD NEVER recommend ANY person go to this doctor. And yes this happen years ago but I still get upset when I think about it and quite frankly I am surprised to see her still practicing.

We have been patients for several years and Dr Fowler is a wonderful doctor. I never had a problem with her staff until recently. While in the office I overheard several staff members talking. The conversation inappropriate (one of them has a husband who is currently incarcerated) and filled with profanity. This is not what I want to hear in my children's doctors office.

Dr. Fowler is great! She really takes time with the kids and pays attention to details. Her staff is also FANTASTIC. They call back promptly, follow up when needed and are super pleasant. Its a winning combination!

We love Dr. Fowler, she has treated my children for 7 years, she is listens to you and your child you will not be rushed in and out of her office. My daughter is autistic and she helped us through the difficult diagnosis and continues to support us.

My children have been seeing Dr. Fowler since we moved to the area, and I'm very glad we found her. She is a great doctor and takes the time to listen and explain things. My kids will see no one else.

Dr. Fowler goes above and beyond every appointment! She is caring and genuine in her bedside manner and my children are not afraid to ask her any questions. She asks them questions about the situation and THEN asks for confirmation and/or more details from Mom. She empowers my kids to be responible for their health and that makes them feel "all grown up." She is the BEST!

Dr Fowler is a great doctor. I had taken my daughter to several "doctors" and Dr Fowler was the only one that cared enough to do more than just write another perscription. I am so glad that I found her!

Has always been great with my daughter and takes her time to get to know our family.
