Dr. Elizabeth Ashton Lester Johnson, MD

My mom was under the care of Dr. Elizabeth Johnson for several years. While under Dr. Johnson's care, mom's quality of life lessoned dramatically. My mom was just hospitalized for Congestive Heart Failure and A-fib, which St. Mary's said should have been diagnosed over a year ago by Dr. Elizabeth Johnson. There were obvious signs. Dr. Johnson NEVER managed my moms medicines and had her taking meds that contradicted each other, as well as cause her further kidney issues. It was moms wound doctors who discovered mom had a heart problem, which Dr. Johnson ignored, because Dr. Johnson did not refer mom to them. When my mom needed meds or had questions, Dr. Johnson would either not call back at all, or would take her time in doing so. I have many stories of mistreatment. Dr. Johnson made my mother suffer needlessly. My mother almost died in the hospital a couple weeks ago, all because the mismanagement and mistreatment of Dr. Elizabeth Johnson over the years. Do NOT use this doctor!!

You must declare all medications to the receptionist before Dr.Johnson will see you. She only sees certain patients and weeds them out through their medications. I thought this was a bit of an invasion of Privacy being that you are telling part of your history to a non medical office staff with no appointment booked. After waiting 6 months for first appointment , before meeting physician I was handed a questionare to make sure I was not clinically depressed or an Alcoholic. Again very odd. She had absolutely no bed side manner. Acted like I was just another chart coming through the office, never asked about my current medical conditions or how I was feeling. Was told I would wait yet another 6 months for the actual " physical." Left kicking myself wondering why was I even here? Waste of time.

No bedside manner. Doesn’t really engage except in the most cursory way.

I heard good things about her and made my first visit. She charged me a “New Patient Visit” fee (not covered by insurance) which is not the same as “Annual Physical” fee (is covered by insurance). The annual physical was a whole separate visit, where she didn’t do anything different than the New Patient visit. Months later, I was treated at urgent care for a back problem and was told to follow up with my PCP. Her office told me she doesn’t see patients for back problems, and to go back to Urgent Care or the ER if I was still having problems. Refused to see me. Then, I called to see if she would Reorder an X-ray (I lost the order slip) for a problem I had previously seen her about, and was told I had to make an appointment to come see her. So she refused to see me for a NEW problem, but insisted on seeing me for an old problem. Terrible care. Avoid her if you want a doctor who gives a hoot about your time and wellbeing.

Dr. Elizabeth L Johnson, MD. Today I tried to set up a new appointment for my wife as a new patient. This office asked me what meds my wife takes. I ask why they ask me for the meds before accepting a new patient. They said is because this doctor does not prescribe certain meds to patients. This is call cherry-picking patients/customers. When they take their vote for practicing medicine do not take this action in consideration, rather they accept any customer/condition to care for. After making some money and stablishing themselves then they cherry-pick patients. Shame on them.

Over the years I have had several primary care doctors. Dr. Johnson rates at the top of all of them. She is easy to talk to and I am comfortable with her. She really cares about my health issues. She is a really good doctor and I am with her for the long haul.

Doctor and office staff were very professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Johnson reviewed test results and provided recommendations. Very positive experience.

Dr. Johnson was very nice and attentive to my health concerns. I did not feel like a "number" or like "cattle to be herded in and out" as I have in some practices in the past. The staff is professional, kind and always smiling. I have been back for follow ups and have been impressed with Dr. Johnson and her office staff every time I've been there. She's one of the great ones!

I was admitted into Emergency Room in critical condition. The hospital staff called Dr Johnson and she came to ER and took over my care. Thanks to her excellent diagnostic aptitude and ability to react quickly, I had a complete recovery. I could not have asked for anything more!
