Since 1997, Elizabeth M. McCartney, D.D.S., M.S. has offered the finest available orthodontic care for children, adolescents and adults. After graduating from dental school, Dr. McCartney continued her education for three more years to become a Specialist in Orthodontics and performs orthodontics exclusively. We understand that your teeth have to last a lifetime, and that their function and look should be both perfect and beautiful. The best way to do this is with a treatment plan that is personalized for each individual patient. We offer payment plans with zero percent financing, and family discounts are available. Second opinions are given and are welcomed. You notice as soon as you walk in the front door-this orthodontic practice is different from other practices. This is not your typical assembly line factory; and everything in the office is designed to make the orthodontic process easy for both the patient and their …parents. Because this is her only practice location, Dr, McCartney has more time to focus on these patients. Unlike other offices, only one patient is scheduled at any given time. Dr. McCartney is then able to spend more time with each patient, allowing for better quality work to be performed in this less time constrained environment.
It is Dr. McCartney that performs the first visit (we call it the new patient exam). It is Dr. McCartney that develops the orthodontic treatment plan and it is Dr. McCartney that discusses this treatment plan with the patient and the parents. If it is too early to start the orthodontic process-she will tell you, since starting too early will not finish the orthodontics any sooner. Once it is decided that t he timing is right f or the orthodontics to begin-records are taken and a consult is scheduled. Again, the orthodontic consult is done exclusively by Dr. McCartney.
Once the braces are on the teeth, the wires are adjusted every 5-8 weeks. These adjustment appointments are short appointments and can be performed after school, if desired. In fact, many of our patients report never having missed any school for an orthodontic appointment.
