Dr. Elizabeth Hawkins Ottman, MD

I used to so dread my annual appointment, but since I have been seeing Lisa Wimsatt PA at Dr. Ottman's office I no longer dread going. Lisa is so congenial and helpful. She takes her time to explain and answer questions. The office staff are very polite and helpful and the waiting room is very nice.

I've had Dr. Ottman the last 10yrs. I absolutly love her. She's kind and patient. She takes the time to listen to you when you have a problem or concern. The staff is amazing as well. She just hired this nurse prationer who is also amazing and it cuts the wait time in in the waiting room by half. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Ottman has ben my primary care doctor as well as my OB/GYN for 16 years. She has always had a gentle and kind bedside manner; she has been through so much that we as women go through; she LISTENS, has empathy, is very thorough and gives point by point recommendations based on complaints. I have had some real medical problems, including one very life threatening condition, and she was on top of everything. Her office staff are pretty good too; I can leave a message and they get back to me the same day, usually within an hour or two. I would highly recommend her. And no offense, but the lady above who said they told her to "Get over it or suck it up"????? I don't believe that for a moment. Sounds like a grieving mother paraphrasing. Either that or they had their account turned over to collections. But there is no way Dr. Ottman or her staff would tell a patient miscarrying to "suck it up".

Very courteous staff, helps any way they can, responds very quickly to any problem or question you may have. Dr. Ottman is the best Doctor I have ever been to. She is fast and efficient and very knowledgable

During my first pregnancy Dr. Ottman was not very helpful what so ever. I had been going to her for 10+ years so i expected her to be caring and considerate. During my second prenatal appointment she could not find a heartbeat so i was taken to the ultrasound room. At that time Dr. Ottman and the lady doing the ultrasound were in the room with my husband and me. They said there was no heartbeat and it looked as though the baby had stopped developing. I was devasted and began to cry. I was then told by the lady who performed the ultrasound to "suck it up and move on, lots of people have miscarriages"! At this point I thought my husband was going to beat the daylights out of both of them. They told me to wait one week and come back to make sure there was no development. The following week we returned to her office for another ultrasound. This time she gave us hope by saying it looks as though the baby has grown some but still no heartbeat. At this point i am asking if she is sure… and she says yes maybe you lost the first baby and got pregnant again which i told her could nto be since we had not had intercourse since my positive pregnancy test. She sent us home with the hopes of everything being fine. The very next day i had severe cramps and bleeding. I called and they told me to lie down and prop my feet up. The pain was horrible but they insisted to just relax. That was on Saturday, on Monday i called the office and she said to come in. She send me to RDI to get an ultrasound by someone else. They concluded that the baby had passed. I went to meet with Ottman after that and she scheduled me for a DNC three days later even though i was in pain and terribly upset! She has a horrible bedside manner and i would not tell my worst enemy to go to her.

Very good bedside manner and always makes me feel that she has time to sit and listen to me. Very professional.
