Dr. Elizabeth Virginia Ratchford, MD

I have several medical conditions and I had been going to each of my doctors (neurologists & neuromuscular) for a year trying to get an accurate diagnosis. Since my neurologic tests hadn't revealed answers yet, I saw Dr. Ratchford for vascular testing to see if vascular claudication was the cause of my leg symptoms. The test came back that I was on the low end of normal (i.e., it wasn't causing my symptoms), however Dr. Ratchford knew I still had lots of questions. She was happy to schedule a follow up appointment. Meanwhile, before I saw her again, I finally did discover the cause of my walking problems was neurogenic claudication (i.e., caused by compression of spinal nerves). But even so, Dr. Ratchford still took a lot of time to go over my vascular test results, answer my questions, and she gave me very action-oriented recommendations to ensure that my arteries remained healthy. She has strong theoretical knowledge, but better yet, she also knows how to translate that… knowledge into patient-friendly actions that I can actually fit into my life. I see several specialists for multiple chronic conditions, so I've had lots of doctor appointments for comparison. Dr. Ratchford is a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend her.
