Dr. Elizabeth Catherine Smith, MD

What happened to Dr smith? I loved her practice but no one answers the phone anymore, no call back?? I even went to where he new office was located and there is no longer an office. Shouldn’t they let patients know they are no longer practicing?

Historically, Dr. Smith was an excellent practitioner. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to talk to patients without looking over you to see her clock. She was beyond helpful, and I available. I can honestly say she was one of the most thorough and professional doctors that I have ever encountered. I have multiple problems, and Dr. Smith has been willing to take the time to work with me and a second doctor that I am seeing. Unfortunately the last couple of years have been completely different. Dr. Smith has not been keeping any appointments. She cancels with little or no warning. After being her patient for almost 20 years, I am truly saddened by what has happened. I'm sure she is undergoing issues of her own. I'm concerned about her wellbeing. Understandably her office person can not divulge what ever problems Dr. Smith is dealing with. I sincerely hope she is able to return to her practice and resume her outstanding patient care. I will always keep positive thoughts… and prayers regarding Dr. Smith, but as of now, (Fall 2019) I have no other choice but to find another neurologist.

Dr. Elizabeth Smith has treated me and my sister-in-law for the past few years. Recently, she has cancelled several appointments usually with one hour of the set time. Her office gives no explanation nor did she provide any explanation the last time I saw her. I find this behavior at the very least unprofessional and perhaps rude. A simple letter to her patients would provide some comfort and understanding. So far nothing has come from her or her office staff

My daughter suffers from migraines and has been seeing Dr. Smith for a couple of years. Dr. Smith is notorious for cancelling appointments the day of or not being in the office when you arrive for your appointment. We are moving on to a different doctor as Dr. Smith clearly does not have her patients best interest at hand. We do not recommend her ever.

Dr E Smith diagnosed my wife (70 years old) with Parkinsonsism. I left three days of messages due to my wife's hallucinations, non mobility and soiling herself; we asked for prior scripts and a new medication which might ease these horific symtoms of Parkinson's. I left a fourth day message threantening to post this more than NEGATIVE REVIEW, and Dr. Smith still didn't have the professionalism to call or write a script. Not sure if her lack of follow through was due to : 1. being incompitant 2. no care/concern for her patient or 3. demand for her services are so numerous she didn't care about my still suffering wife.

Dr. Smith is the worst, most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered! I took my 70 year old mother, who has mild dementia, to see her. The whole process was a joke and really, it's malpractice waiting to happen. Dr. Smith sat behind her desk, the whole time, never rising to greet us or examine my mother! No one took her vitals, nor did any muscle testing -- at a neurologist! A basic memory test was given, but I'm pretty sure my 5 year old child could have done that. Her desk was covered with paper files and her office was a total mess. After the "exam", I called the office to talk to Smith to fill in some blanks from the appt. since my mother is a poor self-reporter. I was told by the office assistant that Smith does not talk to people on the phone -- ??? -- and I need to fax my comments and questions. What if I didn't have access to a fax machine? Then, I was told that even though I faxed those questions, Smith won't talk to me because I'm not my mother AND that I… needed to bring my mother in for an appt. to talk to her. She cited not wanting "miscommunication" or "going behind the patient's back". A patient with dementia!!! She clearly wanted my mom to pay for another office visit! It took her 3 weeks to send the chart note to the internist!! Why is she is practice by herself? Because no other physician wants to be associated with that kind of poor medicine. Stay away from this doctor.

Smith will actually fill your medicine cabinet. I had to switch doctors to have it emptied back out. I lived like a zombie on all of her meds.

Dr. Smith is a rude and mean person, but she talks in a professional tone of voice when she schools you. Her two staff members are both rude too. She never calls anyone back even if there is an emergency.

I wish I would have found her earlier in my diagnosis. It would have saved me from medicine cabinet filled with unnecessary drugs.

She is not nice. Her staff are not nice either because they know that they can get away with it. She most likely has written all of the positive reviews on this site herself with the exception of the one, but that person may have been smart by using that review as insurance against her after reading all of the others. She and her staff actually have no empathy. Don't let them fool you. Hopefully vitals.com comes up on your Google search. It didn't on mine. Boy am I sorry. Stay away. They will all abuse you somehow in time.
