Dr. Elizabeth Marie Soety, PhD

I went to Dr. Soety for some testing, she asked me multiple questions regarding my life history and current situation. I came to her in a very rough time in life, genuinely open, honest and wanting help with stress and postpartum depression. I opened up and told her personal things that I don't share lightly. I thought things were going good, until the end when she just looked at me with a very judgemental look and said she didn't have availability to see me as much as I'd need, which I completely understood. But then she said the therapist I end up seeing I need to be accountable for change and not come there to "b***h". It caught me off guard because I truly had no idea as I was opening up to her and answering her questions so she could get the full picture, that those were her thoughts. I felt so uncomfortable at the end of the appointment because I've worked so hard and I've come so far in my life especially recently. I have issues with self esteem and recently I've been… congratulated by my doctors and people that know me for many things that I've overcome and achieved. But I truly feel like crap now and I'm left questioning so much. It was such a cold, harsh, and very unclear ending to the appointment. I'm sure she's a great doctor to her patients but I did not have a good experience whatsoever. I am all for and understand being real and blunt, but being unclear and treating a patient like that isn't necessary or appropriate. Especially when a patient has opened up and is sitting there thinking it's a safe environment to do so. If you're dealing with anything like severe postpartum depression or just needing help and guidance like I was truly seeking, I'd recommend you start out with making it clear what you're doing and what you've already done to help yourself/situation before starting from the beginning. By the time the session ended I didn't get to that and I'm left feeling pretty bad about myself to say the very least.

Dr. Soety is very intuitive, and is not afraid to set me back on track when that is what I need. She addresses the issue at hand, and then dives deeper into other peripheral issues as necessary. She has been a very helpful aspect of my psychological treatment on and off for about 10 years now. I trust her to point me in the right direction for my individual treatment.

Dr. Soety is easy going and knowledgeable. She is so nice and easy going but isn't afraid to tell you what you need to do to get back on track.

Very wise and helpful. My anxiety and depression is starting to improve. Easy to talk to. Excellent service.

In it for the money. Avoid her.
