We were referred to the CDC for our daughter who was struggling. It was the biggest waste of time. When we met for our parent follow-up...Dr. Tingley referred to my daughter as "weird" and then admitted she shouldn't have said that. She also told us "I can't imagine how you are feeling knowing your child is going to die soon". This was after we explained the grim genetic diagnosis we got. We got this diagnosis from Carle, but Tingley didn't even know about it. The report that the team typed up referred to my daughter as a he/him often. Almost like it was copied and pasted from other patients. This parent meeting was supposed to last an hour. I took a half day off work and we spent 12 minutes in her office. She literally labeled my daughter autistic because that is the "only thing we could come up with". Dr. Tingley was very unprofessional and not compassionate at all. I'm happy to just step over her and find better doctors to help my daughter. I just hope others don't have to go… through what we did.
