Dr. Ellen Winters Mcknight, MD

I was a patient of dr. Mcknight’s back n 1995 as a 15 yr old F. N Gulf Breeze She was always a thorough & compassionate dr. She diagnosed me w/Mixed Connective Tissue, Discoid Lupus, SLE lupus & Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. The only thing I didn’t like is I always had to b there at my appointed time which resulted n sitting n her waiting room for hrs at a time. I eventually moved to GA & haven’t found a rheumatologist that even comes close to her! She’s extremely knowledgeable in her field I’ve searched for the last 32 yrs to find someone who’s willing to trat all my rheumatology illnesses. When I was a child she had to break all the latin medical words to layman terms to my parents whom really didn’t care about my illness. They just wanted to get their hands on my meds. Anyways because of her I mastered Latin fluently. She spends lots of time explaining to patients of their diagnoses. I personally believe the ones writing negative reviews r probably extremely bitter ppl who… may have had a bad experience overall & r just writing 1 bad review after another. I have no idea about her office staff but I have never had any issues with them finding my past medical records & mailing them to me n a timely manner. I highly recommend her has an extremely knowledgeable & compassionate dr. You’ll NEVER find another dr. with so much knowledge n her field of work. I highly suggest you give this rheumatologist a chance to treat you because you won’t regret it compared to other dr.’s n her field. I understand how upsetting it can be for a dr. to drop u as a patient due to insurance issues. Medicare doesn’t pay much to these dr.’s at all. I’m on full disability today due to a massive stroke cuz of my lupus. 10 grand of medical bills billed by specialist & they’re lucky to b paid $500. Dr.’s expect to make great money. I have been with the clinic for years and am so thankful to have a Dr and staff that care about my health. From easily scheduling an appointment to a phone call because something doesn't seem right, it's been great having a clinic that cares. It is an awesome feeling to know that there is a team that is there for you.

Rude and condescending staff. Have to follow up to make sure my meds were ordered correctly every single visit. I absolutely love Dr. McKnight, but I stopped going because of her staff. Just get tired of being treated like it was my fault they messed up my med order or got the wrong pharmacy or never ordered my meds at all. And dont reschedule an apt. You get the riot act.

I am so happy i got an appointment finally with this doctor and she is wonderful!! Her staff no so much. Will tell you that they dont think the dr will fill a prescription before even talking to her. They sometimes do not answer the phone, do not return calls and are short and cut you off when you do get them.

Dr McKnight is amazing. She gave me my life back. So glad to finally find a doctor who cares. Her staff is very friendly and accommodating.

I thought she was a good doctor until she dropped her Medicare patients. If you are on Medicare you can forget going to see her. Guess they don't reimburse her with enough money. Sad, very sad to leave her patience hanging like that. Some doctors just can't conform.

Dr McKnight is so compassionate and attentive. I love her and her staff!

Great doctor. She really helped with my pain and was able to function on a higher level. Her nurse is very rude and got mad at me for questioning her about my subscription. She then told me Dr. Mcknight would not see me any more. I ask to speak to her and was told she did not return calls. So I have been without medication, unable to work, and lost my job because this nurse decided I couldn't see Dr.Mcknight again.

Dr. McKnight has been my rheumatologist for more than 10 years. She has managed my case very well keeping deterioration and pain at bay all that time. She monitored my case closely enough to recognize other developing issues. She's the best..

On my first visit to Dr. McKnight, she spent a great deal of time talking to me, asking a wide range of questions, and examining me. She ordered appropriate tests, and referred me to other specialists for my particulars. She is working hard to both rule-out and to zoom-in to find the root of my illness. This gives me hope after being sick for so many years. I would describe her as very thoughtful, diligent and intelligent. She is very professional, while remaining considerate. I highly recommend her.
